Werewolf
Rose Bailey: My Mate, My Flower Chapter 225
Ebony's POV
"Hello, Princess Ebony, or I guess it is Queen Ebony now," One of the Royal Council members said. Jacob contacted the Royal Council after I told him I would take my place as the Queen of Werewolves, and Council told him they were thrilled. They said they would be coming to the Silvermoon Pack immediately, but I was shocked when they showed up the following day. Keith and I barely got any sleep the night before because we ended up fucking until the sun came up. So now here I am at seven in the morning, welcoming the Royal Council back to the Silvermoon Pack.
"Hello, welcome back to our Pack," Keith said
"Thank you for having us. We are so happy about both of your decision to take over as King and Queen. I am sure King Jacob told you that we are here to make sure the both of you are ready to Rule."
I still didn't understand why we needed the Royal Council to tell us if we were or were not ready to take over as King and Queen. I felt we shouldn't need their approval on if we were or weren't prepared. We were supposed to be the ones that ruled all werewolves, not them.
"So, how exactly are you going to make sure we are prepared?" I asked
"We will teach you everything required to be King and Queen. I am sure you are aware that this is a big responsibility. The two of you are going to be responsible for all the werewolves. It is important that you know what that means and everything that comes with it."
"We also need to get you ready to meet the Vampire King and the Dragon King."
"We are going to meet the Dragon and Vampire King?' I asked
"Yes, you are, but first, we want to make sure you are ready to be Queen and King."
"You do know Werewolves and Vampires don't get along, right?" Keith asked
"Yes, we know that, but you are going to be the ruler of our kind and must be able to be cordial with them. We have been trying to work together so that we can live peacefully with the Vampires," one of the Royal Council Members said.
"Isn't that why we stay on our side, and they stay on theirs?" Keith mumbled. It took a lot for me not to laugh at his immaturity.
"I don't understand why my father can't teach us everything we need to know. He has been King for a long time and knows what is required to rule," I said.
"We don't feel that King Jacob is the one that should show you what to do. Especially after everything the Queen did."
"That wasn't him that did those things. I believe he would be a great teacher," I replied.
"Hello, I am surprised to see you so soon," Jacob said before the Council could reply to my statement.
"Hello, King Jacob. We told you we were coming immediately. We are so happy that your daughter finally agreed to take her place as Queen. We have a lot to do," one of the Council Members said.
"Yes, but first, why don't we get you all settled," Jacob said
"That sounds like a great idea. We have traveled a long way to get here, and it would be nice to rest for a while."
"Of course. Let us show all of you to your rooms," Keith said, and we headed to take the Members of the Council to their rooms.
"They are only here to make sure the two of you know what you need to to be King and Queen," Jacob said. After we took all of the Members to the rooms they would be staying in, Keith, Jacob, and I went to Keith and My floor to talk. I was feeling uncomfortable with the Council staying in the Packhouse and showing Kieth and me how to be great rulers. I didn't think that they needed to show us anything. Jacob was more than capable of teaching us what we needed to know. Plus, there was something about the Council that I didn't like or trust.
"I don't get why you can't show us everything. You have been King for a very long time and have the knowledge to teach us everything. I don't feel comfortable with them," I said honestly.
"You know why I can't be the one to train you, Ebony. Because of everything Alice did, they don't trust that I know how to prepare you. They are worried I will teach you wrong, so you have to let them teach you," Jacob said
"But why do we have to listen to them? They are not the ones that are supposed to be in charge because you are the King at this moment. You should be able to tell them that you want to train us," I replied, causing Jacob to become silent. I knew he felt responsible for Alice and felt he should have known what she was doing. Honestly, I felt that was part of the reason Jacob wasn't speaking up for himself to the Council because he felt guilty.
"It will be better for them to show you everything. I will be here if you need me, but you must let them do all the training. They will know better than me. I am going to go and check on Alissa. She hasn't been acting herself, and I am beginning to worry," Jacob said. Alissa hasn't spoken to me since she found out I was going to take my place as Queen. I could see the worry in Jacob's eyes because of Alissa's weird behavior, and I was also beginning to worry about her. I just hoped she wasn't upset with me.
"Okay," I said, and Jacob left the room.
"How long do you think the Council will be here?" I asked Keith.
"As long as it takes to teach us everything."
