Rose Bailey: My Mate, My Flower Chapter 54

Rose's POV

"My mate will not be harmed just because of some prophecy you claim is true. You won't even answer any of our questions," Derek growled.

"I agree my daughter will not be going back to the dark realm," My mom said

Joyce, whom I now know is my grandmother, wants to take me back to the evil realm to find some magic book that Cheryl, her sister, stole from her. To say Derek and my mom are upset would be an understatement. They look like they want to rip her head off.

"That book has information about the prophecy. It also has spells that could help us defeat the dark realm. When we return, I will answer any questions you may have," Joyce explained, and we all looked at her.

"Did you forget Rose doesn't know how to use her powers correctly? What if something were to happen and she needed to protect herself? She wouldn't be able to," My mom said

"I know she will be fine. I have witnessed it. There's no way we'll win this battle if she doesn't go," Joyce said

Derek and my mom appeared to be deep in thought. Neither of them said anything.

"Maybe Joyce is right," Uncle Michael said

My mom and Derek looked over at him in disbelief

"You can't be serious, dad! What if we were talking about mom? Would you want her to go?" Derek asked.

"Of course not. I don't want Rose to leave, but I don't believe we have other options. Joyce said that she would return safely. If we don't let her go, we'll all die," Uncle Michael said

"He is right, Lil. I don't want her to go either, but it will be worse if she doesn't go," My dad said

"She is our daughter, Max," My mom said

"I know, but there is nothing else we can do,"

My mom looked over at Joyce.

"Are you sure that she will come back without being hurt?" My mom asked

"I am positive. As I said, I have seen it,"

"I guess we have no other choice. What do you think, Rose?" My mom asked

"You can't be serious, Aunt Lil. She is not going back there," Derek growled

Derek and my mom started arguing with each other. I was beginning to get frustrated.

"STOP ARGUING," I screamed, causing everyone to look at me

"I am going," I said

I knew there was no other option. If I didn't go, we all would die.

"No, you are not," Derek growled, startling me

He took a deep breath to calm down

"Baby, I don't want you to get hurt. If you go there, how do we know you will really come back," He asked.

"We have to believe that Joyce is telling the truth," I said

He looked at me and saw that I wasn't going to change my mind.

"I am going with you then," He said

He looked over at Joyce

"If she is going, I'm going," He said

"That's fine," She said

"So am I," Mark said

We all looked over at Mark

"What if you get hurt going to the realm," My father asked Mark.

He saw that I wasn't going to change my mind when he looked at me.

"I'm going with you then," he said.

He turned to face Joyce.

"If she's going, I'm going," he explained.

"That's fine," she replied.

"So am I," Mark replied.

We all turned to look at Mark.

"What if you get hurt on your way to the realm?" my father said.

"Don't worry, dad. I'll be fine." Don't forget that I'm half witch as well. I can help Rose if she needs it," Mark stated.

"OK, but everyone needs to be careful," my father said

Joyce, Mark, Derek, and I formed a circle and held hands. Joyce said the spell, and soon we were back in the dark witch's realm.

"Everyone stay with me," Joyce said

We walked through the woods to the mansion. This time, there were a lot more witches there than before. There were witches guarding the front of the house. I didn't know how we were supposed to get past them.

"There are a lot of witches up there," Mark said

"They have increased their security because Rose escaped. Marcus is upset that she got away from him," Joyce said

"Marcus," I asked

"The man with the scarred eye," She said

I felt a chill run through me just thinking about him. I didn't want to see him anymore. He frightened me.

Derek noticed and put his arms around me, bringing me closer to him

"No one is going to hurt you. I won't let them," He said

I  nodded and looked over at Joyce.

"How am I going to get past them?" I asked

"We're going to change your appearance, so they think you're Chloe," She said

"What if my mom is inside?" Mark asked

"She isn't there right now. She is with Marcus trying to figure out their next move,"

She took my hands into her and started chanting a spell. I felt weightless, like when we moved from realms.

Derek and Mark looked at me, shocked.

"It worked," Mark said

"Now what," Derek asked

"Now, she walks up there and brings the book back," Joyce said

"I am not letting her go in there alone," Derek growled

"Well, you can't go in there with her. They would kill you instantly," Joyce growled

"I am pretty sure they wouldn't be able to take me," Derek said

"You keep forgetting that I have seen the future. I know what will happen if you go in there. Both of you will not come out alive," Joyce said

"Derek, I'm going in there by myself," I said

"No, Rose, it's not safe," He said

"We are wasting time," Joyce said and started to speak in the foreign language again.

Derek and Mark fell to the ground unconscious

"What did you do to them" I growled

"They will be fine. They are just sleeping. They would never have let you go alone if I hadn't done this. Now you need to go get the book," She said

"How will I find it,"

"Put this on," She said and handed me something that looked like a watch

"What am I supposed to do with it?"

"It's not a normal watch. It is like a compass. Follow the arrow, and you will find the book. Now go before we are too late," Joyce said, and I headed toward the house.

When I walked up the steps to the front door, the guard opened the door for me.

I walked in and looked around. I looked at the compass and followed the arrow. It was leading me towards some stairs. So I started walking up them and headed toward a hallway. There were a lot of rooms on the floor.

I followed the arrow until it turned toward a door. I opened it slowly and looked around. Nobody was there, so I walked into the room. I looked at the compass, and it was pointing to the bed. I looked under the bed and found a chest that had a lock.

"Where is the key?" I said to myself

I looked around and couldn't find anything. Then, I heard someone open the door unexpectedly. I quickly hid under the bed before two women entered the room.

"See, I told you she wasn't here," I heard a woman say

"She is useless. I can't wait until we don't need her anymore. I am tired of playing nice," Another woman replied

"All of this will be over soon, and we'll be able to get rid of her," the woman said, and they burst out laughing.

Once they walked out of the room, I looked inside the nightstand and smiled. The key was under some papers.

Before I closed the nightstand, I noticed a picture of a little girl around the age of three and a baby. They were seated next to a woman and a man. When I got a closer look, I realized the lady was Joyce. I put the picture in my pocket and opened the chest. I took the book and placed the chest back under the bed.

I walked down the stairs and left the house.

"Did you get it?" Joyce asked

I looked and saw that Derek and Mark were still unconscious.

"They will be out for a while. Let's go home," Joyce said; we held Derek and Mark's hands. Joyce said the spell that would take us home.
