Ebony's POV

"You ready to have dinner with your father?" Keith asked as he walked into our room. I had just finished getting ready to go to dinner with Jacob. I was nervous about having dinner with him. I knew he wanted to talk to me about Alice. She probably wanted to make excuses for why she acted the way she did. He would most likely apologize for the way she treated me. I didn't want to hear any of that. 

"Yeah, I am ready. I am about to walk down there now," I said 

"I will walk down with you," Keith said, placing his hand in mine as we walked to the elevator. 

Jacob was talking to Edward. 

"Hello, Ebony and Keith," Jacob said as we walked closer to him.

"Hello, King Jacob. I was escorting my Mate downstairs," Keith said 

'We are finally now, Keith. You can call me Jacob," Jacob said and then looked at me, "You ready to go?" 

"Yes," I said. Keith kissed me passionately before letting me go. "I will see you later, My Love," Keith said, and Jacob and I left the Packhouse with Jacob's guards behind.

"Where is Alissa?" I asked as we walked into the restaurant

"She is in her room. She said she was tired, so she is going to sleep early," Jacob replied

"We should have invited her to come as well," I said 

"She knew we needed to talk along," Jacob said

"Good evening Luna Ebony and King Henry. Will it be just the two of you tonight?" One of the Pack Members asked 

"Yes, it will be just us," Jacob replied with a smile. The Pack Member picked up two menus and made her way to a table. "Right this way,' She said, and we followed her.

"Your waitress will be with you shortly," She said and walked away after putting a menu in front of Jacob and me. 

"Thank You," I said as she walked away.

"Ebony, I know I have apologized to you before, but I can't tell you how sorry I am for the trouble Alice caused. I had no idea that she felt the way that she did. I really hope we can get passed all of this and have a great relationship," Jacob said 

"Thank you for your apology. I would love to have a relationship with you and start over, but I will not lie. I don't want any relationship with Alice. She has done too many horrible things, and I don't trust her. She tried to kill me," I said 

"I know. I still can't believe that she would do all of that. It is crazy that she helped your mom disappear. I always thought someone helped your mother leave with you from the inside, but I never expected that it was Alice. I feel bad because a lot of members of the Pack were banished because I thought they helped your mother," Jacob said 

'Including my grandparents?" I asked

"Yes, they were banished because Alice told me they had something to do with your mom taking you from me. They tried to tell me that they had nothing to do with your mother taking you away from me. I wish I had listened to them because they were always loyal. They are different from your mom Ebony. They have always been loving and caring parents, and I don't understand how your mother turned the way she was," Jacob said 

"Keith told me that You told them they could come back to the Royal Pack, but they declined," I said

"Yes, I don't blame them for declining my offer after everything they have been through. They ended up going to stay with friends in the human territory and have been there since that night your mother escaped. They said they would never return to a Pack with Alice as Queen. I would say I was mad at them for telling me that, but I can't be. They have every right to their opinion. Alice's lies have gotten many Pack Members kicked out of the Pack. Most didn't want to come back because they didn't; want to be around her. I am sure they were worried she would find another way to hurt them if they came back," Jacob said 

"Not to be mean or anything, but I don't blame any of them. Alice has done too much, and I don't want to be around her either. To be honest with you, I don't think it is right that she got away with hurting all those members and almost killing me. I don't think she is going to change her ways because she knows you will let her get away with anything that she does," I said 

"She didn't get away with everything," Jacob said

"What do you mean? Didn't you tell your warriors not to tell anyone anything about what Alice did?" I asked

"I am not going to lie. I did tell them not to talk to anyone about what Alice did, but someone told the Royal Committee about everything that Alice has done, and now there is an investigation into her to see if she is fit to be Queen. If she fails, she will be stripped of her title," Jacob said, shocking me.

"There is going to be an investigation? How is that possible when you are King?" I asked

"Yes, I am the Werewolf King, but even I have advisors. Some of them have been suspicious of Alice since I took her as my Queen. They have always felt that I have been covering up for her. 

"Not to be mean or anything but you have been covering up for her," I said 

"I know it was wrong, but she is my Mate Ebony. I always looked the other way, not wanting to see that truth when it was right in my face. That is until I found out that she tried to kill you. I can't let that go, and even though I wasn't going to tell the Royal Committee about her, our relationship has been strained. 

"So if she isn't Queen, then what happens? You rule alone," I asked

"No. You and Keith will rule,"
