Ebony's POV

"Well, I guess I interrupted something," Nancy said 

"Mom, stop it. You are embarrassing her," Keith said

"I am sorry. I just wanted to see your room," She replied

We showed her around the room.

"You two did an amazing job. It looks way better than before," Nancy said

"It is all, Ebony. She chose everything and picked where everything should go," Keith said, smiling at me. 

"Well, Ebony, you did an amazing job," She complimented

"Thank You," I replied

We talked to her in the family room about the meeting that we were having after school. She said they would introduce me as Keith's Mate and the future Luna of the Pack. I was nervous because all the Pack Members were required to go to the meeting. That meant everyone from school would be there from the Pack.

"It's getting late, and you guys have school tomorrow. So I will see you tomorrow," Nancy said and hugged Keith and kissed him on the cheek. 

She also surprised me by hugging me and kissing me on the cheek. I wasn't used to that type of motherly affection because my mother never did anything like that, even when I was little. 

"Good night, honey. I am so happy you are here with my son," she told me with a genuine smile.

"Good night," I replied, and she left the room.

I looked over at Keith, who was already looking at me. 

"So, would you like to have that talk now?" He asked me, and I nodded

We went to the dining room and sat at the table. We were silent for a moment, not knowing how to begin the conversation. Finally, I decided to cut to the chase.

"The server was the one that put the glass in my food, wasn't she?" I asked, and I could see him tense up. Then, he took a deep breath before replying.

"Yes, she was," He said

"Is it because you two used to date?" I asked

"Not exactly," He replied

"Then why would she do that? I cannot see just some random female you don't have a history with doing something like that," I responded.

"We weren't together, but we have been intimate a couple of times," He said

"You mean you two had sex?" I asked

"Yes," 

"I see," I said

I didn't know what to say after hearing that they had sex. I didn't like that she had sex with him, and I felt a pain in my heart. He placed his hand in mine, and I looked up at him.

"It meant nothing when I was with her. She will be punished for hurting you. The guards have placed her in a room, and she will be sentenced for harming her Future Luna," He said

"What's going to happen to her?" I asked

"It isn't nothing for you to worry about," He replied

"Yes, it is. She is getting punished because of me, and I want to know what will happen to her," I asked.

"I don't want you worrying about anything," He said

"Are you planning on hurting her?" I asked, and I could tell by the change in his posture that he was

"She hurt you," He said

"What are you planning to do," I asked again

"She will get whipped twenty times," He said 

"Whipped! No, Keith, you can't do that," I said

"Why not? The punishment for harming their Luna could be death. She is luck; that is all she is getting," He snarled.

"Keith, I don't want you to hurt her. Just make her clean the Pack House or something," I said

"No. She hurt you, and now she will pay," He said

" I am fine. I don't want anyone getting hurt because of some harmless prank," I said

"Harmless prank! She hurt you, and I am not going allow anyone to hurt you," He said

"I said I am fine," I said, getting frustrated.

He closed his eyes and took a deep breath before responding.

"I can't let her get away with hurting you, Ebony. If I let her get away with it, then others may try to hurt you as well," He said

"I am not hurt, Keith, and making her clean the Pack House is not letting her get away with it," I replied

"I have put you through too much already. I'd be damned if I let someone else hurt you because of me and gets away with it, "He said, making me look at him.

That was when I realized that he blamed himself for what she did. I didn't want him to do that. He might have slept with her but didn't tell her to put the glass in my food. I placed my hand on his causing him to stare at me deep into my eyes.

"Keith, you didn't make her do anything. She made her own decision to put the glass in my food. You don't have to do this because you feel responsible," I said.

"I will not let her get away with it, Ebony. I am sorry, but this has to happen, so everyone knows to respect you," He said

"But," 

"I SAID NO, EBONY DAMN CAN'T YOU HEAR," he growled, causing me to look at him in shock. 

He looked back at me, worried. 

"Ebony, I am sorry," He started, but I ran into my room and locked the door. I couldn't help the tears that came from my eyes.
