Ebony's POV

"I can't believe you would let Ebony use her abilities in front of an entire room of witnesses. What were you thinking?" Jacob said 

"I didn't know this would happen. If I would have, I never would have taken her to that party," Keith said.

"I am sure everyone is wondering what Ebony is. Now we have to figure out what to tell everyone from your Pack," Jacob said. When we arrived back at the Packhouse, Jacob was waiting for us. The guards he had following us had already told him what happened between Kelly and me. To say he was upset would be an understatement.

"I am sorry. I didn't mean to cause any trouble," I said, ashamed that I couldn't stay in control.

"It is alright. You have nothing to feel bad about. Like I told you before, this happens to the best of us," Jacob said 

"I don't see what the big problem is, dad. Why don't you tell the Pack that she has special abilities just like you? It isn't like our Pack doesn't know that you have gifts," Alissa said 

"Only a few members know about my abilities. I also had to get the approval of the Royal Council to tell those members," Jacob said, and then his phone began to ring.

"Yes," Jacob said after answering the phone. 

"What do you mean the Council is coming to the Silvermoon Pack?" Jacob growled

"Alright, I will let them know," Jacob said before ending the call.

"What's wrong?" I asked

"The Members of the Royal Council are coming to your Pack. Somehow they have gotten word about what happened at the party. They want to meet you and talk to you about the importance of keeping your wolf a secret," Jacob said

'When are they coming," Keith asked.

"They will be here in the morning. They are already on their way," Jacob said

"Should I be worried?" I asked

"No, the Royal Council already knows you are a white wolf and that you only recently discovered that you are my daughter. They know that you were unaware of the rules. They are going help us with the Pack Members, so they don't figure out what you are," Jacob said. I was shocked that the Royal Council was coming all this way because I had lost control. 

"Do you know who alerted the Royal Council about Ebony losing control?" Keith asked

"No. I am not sure exactly who contacted them. They probably sent someone to follow me when I arrived here," Jacob said 

"I don't understand why it is dangerous for the Pack to know what I am. Witches have powers, and they live normal lives with everyone knowing who they are," I said 

"Werewolves hate it when someone is more powerful than them. You would be surprised how many would want to harm you just because you are special," Keith said 

"I guess you are right. I just hate that I have to hide my wolf all the time. I wish I could run free like everyone else," I said

"So do I, Ebony, but our family has been hiding our wolves forever. Besides, it is against the rules for us to expose what our wolf is," Jacob said

"But our family have been the Kings and Queens of all the wolves. We shouldn't have to hide. How can the Royal Council tell us that we have to hide our wolf?" I asked

"It is what it is. What we need to do is get your powers under control before you accidentally shift in front of all of the Pack Members. Keith, Let's go to your office and discuss what we are going to do when the Council arrives," Jacob said 

"Okay, I will be back, My Love," Keith said, and they headed to their office.

"I agree with you, Ebony. I don't think it is right that you have to hide who you are. It is the Royal Council that made up that Rule,' Alissa said 

"Did someone get hurt or killed because they were a white wolf?" I asked

"Not that I know of. From what I understand, all the white wolves are in our family," Alissa said 

"It makes no sense to me. If no one has ever been hurt, why can't I tell everyone what I am?" I asked

"I don't know," Alissa said

I couldn't help but wonder why the Council wanted my family to hide who we were. If no one was ever hurt, what would be the problem with everyone learning that we were white wolves and had powers? We weren't the only powerful beings in the world. 

Jacob believed that it was essential to stay hidden from the world. I knew he had to be tired of hiding all of his life because I was already tired of hiding for the few years I had had my wolf. She was tired of hiding as well. I felt I needed to find out what the big deal was with the Council. They must be very powerful for everyone in my family to follow them for so long.

"I decided that when the Council arrived, I would ask them why I needed to hide my wolf. If they didn't have a good reason, I would tell them that the law needed to be changed.
