Rose Bailey: My Mate, My Flower Chapter 48

"The only one that can. I have seen it play out with all of us and each time we all die. Only one time have I seen a different outcome. Derek, you are the only one that can save Rose,"

Derek's POV

"Derek, you are the only one that can save Rose," Joyce said looking me deep in the eye

"Why can't we help him," Jason asked

"Because if any of us intervene in him saving her from that house, we all will die. I told you that I have seen every possible way this could play out. He is the only one that can save her,"

"So what do we do? Just wait out here for him to come back with her?" Max asked 

"That's all we can do," Joyce said

"No I am coming with you," Max said

"If you go, we will all die," Joyce said seriously

"I am going by myself. I can't risk my mate's life. I will come back with her," I said

"You will need this," She said and handed me a dagger

"Rose is in a room. I don't know exactly which one it is. You need to go to the first door that you choose. Don't doubt your choice because she will be in that room. If you don't go to the first door that you think she is in then you both will die," She said and I nodded

"There is a man in the room with her. This is for him. He is very powerful and wants to claim Rose. This dagger is for you to stab him with. It won't kill him but it will make him go unconscious," 

"Why does he want to claim Rose? She is Mine," I asked angrily

Nobody was going to take what's mine

"I can't tell you right now. If I do we all will die. You need to go inside and get your mate back now,"

I could see that she was serious. I didn't hesitate to turn and walk toward the mansion. 

I was shocked that there was no one guarding the house. The hallways were empty as well. I wondered if that is why Joyce wanted me to leave right then. Maybe she knew there wouldn't be anyone in here. 

I walked down the hall and looked at a door. I thought maybe she'd be in there. I remembered Joyce telling me to open the first door I think of. I went over and opened the door to see a man walking on top of Rose trying to take her clothes off. She was struggling underneath him.

I quickly went over to him and threw him off of her.

"She is mine," I said

"You don't deserve a mate as beautiful and powerful as she is," He said and jumped at me. 

I took the dagger that, Joyce gave me out of my pocket and stabbed him in the chest with it. He instantly became unconscious. 

I turned around and looked at Rose. She looked like she was in a state of shock because of what almost happened to her. She was shaking and I could hear her heart rate quickening. She was having a panic attack. 

I grabbed her softly to make her stand and held her close to me. I could feel her breathing in my scent just like I was to her. 

"Everything will be ok baby. I got you," I said and she instantly calmed down.

I looked at her shirt and saw that it was ripped. You could see her bra. I couldn't help the growl that came from my mouth. She flinched from the sound.

"I am so sorry Flower. I'm not mad at you," I said.

I took my shirt off and put it on her. 

"We need to get out of here," I said and picked her up bridal style. She held onto me tightly.

Before I got to the front door, I heard it open. Chloe and another woman were coming through the door talking and laughing.

"So you played him?" The lady said to Chloe

"Yeah! Jacob let the Rogues through the border thinking I was going to help him. You should have seen his face when I told him I didn't need him anymore and wasn't going to make the mate's potion for him. He basically lost it." Chloe said laughing

I knew we needed to get out of there. I waited for the two of them to leave the room. Once they were gone, I took Rose out the front door. We made it to the woods where everyone was waiting for us.

"Rose, are you ok," Her mom asked and she nodded

 I could tell she was still shaken up from what almost happened in there. She looked over at Joyce in fear. 

"She is the one that took me," She said panicking

I held her close to me to calm her down

"No baby she is not the same person. She is the woman that took you's twin. She helped us find you," I told her and she calmed down.

Joyce came up to her and smiled sadly at her

"I am so sorry that you had to go threw all of that. Everything is going to be ok, I promise," she said 

She knew that Rose had been assaulted and almost raped.  She looked at me with a serious expression

"Let's all form a circle so we can go home," She said 

Aunt Lil took Rose from my arms and walked with her to make the circle. I wanted to go and pick her back up and keep her close to me.

Joyce came over to me and whispered in my ear 

"You are the only one that can help her through this. He might not have succeeded in raping her but he almost did. It will be hard for her if you are not by her side," She said

"I will always be by her side," I told her seriously and walked over to Rose. I kissed her on the forehead and held her close to me, while Joyce started the spell to take us home.
