Rose Bailey: My Mate, My Flower Chapter 120

TWO WEEKS LATER

Rose's POV

I woke up to see Derek not beside me in bed. I looked at his pillow, saw a note, and picked it up.

"Flower

I am sorry for not being there when you woke up; I know I feel that since you followed my traditions, it is only fair for me to follow the ones you grew up with as well. Since it is bad luck for the bride and groom to see each other on the wedding day before they walk down the aisle, I made sure I was out of our house before midnight. Kate, Kayla, Your mom, and Mine should be there when you wake up.

I love you, Flower, and can't wait to see you at the alter

I couldn't help the tears that escaped my eyes from reading that. I placed the letter on the nightstand and decided to take a shower. After I was done showering, I put on some blue jeans and one of Derek's black shirts. While brushing my teeth, there was a knock on the door. I looked out the window to see Kate, Kayla, My mom, and Aunt Lisa in the front yard. 

"Good morning Sweetie," my mom said and hugged me

"Good morning," I replied

"We need to get you ready for the wedding," Aunt Lisa said

They walked inside the house, and my mom and Aunt Lisa sat in the living room while Kayla, Kate, and I went into the kitchen so I could eat something. I decided to eat cereal since I didn't have time to cook. One of the Pack Members, Ciara, was coming over to do my hair.

"Sis," I heard Jason say as he walked through the front door.

"Hey Jason, Desi," my mom said

"Hi," Desi said 

"Hi," Jason mumbled and walked into the kitchen with Desi beside him.

Jason and my mom's relationship had changed after the battle with Marcus. I knew something was wrong, but when I asked, they both said everything was fine and not to worry. 

"Hey, sis, Derek asked me to take care of some Pack stuff, and Desi doesn't want to stay in the house, so I told her to hang with you while you get ready for the wedding," Jason said

"If you don't mind, Luna," Desi said

"Please, quit calling me Luna. You are family now, and of course, I don't mind; you are welcome here anytime," I said with a smile which she returned.

"Thank you, Luna," Desi said

"Rose, call me Rose; now that Jason is Beta now, that means you are Beta female once he marks you," I said, and she blushed.

We still haven't found Jace after he helped his mom escape. Derek has been looking for him, but there have been no leads. Derek said that if he came back, he would be punished for assisting in a prisoner's escape. Since his mother tried to kidnap me, and I am Luna now, that would mean death for his mom and Jace because he helped her escape.

In a way, I feel bad for both of them. Veronica was upset because I killed her daughter and blamed me for her mate's death. I am pregnant and would do anything for my babies. If the table were turned and someone killed one of them, I would do anything to make them pay. If anything happened to Derek, I would kill anyone involved in his murder. 

Jace is her son; he knew his mother would be killed if he didn't help her. He had already lost his father and sister. I couldn't imagine knowing my mom was in the same situation, and I would do anything to help her. So I understand why Jace helped his mom. 

The one that I felt sorry for the most is Lacy. Jace left her here without saying goodbye. I am sure he didn't want her to be a part of what he did, but she is not doing well. She has hardly left her room since he's been gone. I hope she doesn't hate me for any of what happened. Lacy and I were becoming friends, and now she has been distant from everyone. I am happy that her family is there for her, though.

"Well, I will be going now. I don't want to be late for your wedding. I will see you later, Desi," Jason said and kissed Desi on the cheek before walking out the door.

"It looks like the two of you are doing better," I said 

"We are working on it. It's hard because my last mate was abusive and Jason's," Desi began, but Kate cut her off

"Used magic to make him think they were mates," 

"Yeah, I know he is a good guy; I am just still a little worried that he might change," Desi said

"I promise you that my brother would never be like Steve. Jason is the most loving and caring guy you will ever meet. He is very protective, though, but he would never hurt you," I said

"Alyssa and her team are here to make sure everything is ready for the wedding. She is already in the back," My mom said

"Okay, I am going to go say hi," I said and went to the backyard. 

Alyssa was one of the Pack Members that was a party planner. She planned most of the Pack Member's parties, from Birthdays to graduations. 

"Good Morning, Luna, You are glowing this morning. How long do you have until the babies come?" She asked me

"About five more weeks if they wait that long," I said

"Sally had told me that the babies were growing faster than usual the last couple of weeks. It was hard to tell when they would be coming. Derek and I asked if we should worry about them, but Sally said they would be fine and look healthy. She told me I needed to rest more and try not to stress. She also said I needed to minimize using my magic because it took a lot of energy.

"Oh, that was sooner than I thought," 

"Your mom told me to come to get you so you could start getting ready. Ciara just arrived to do your hair," Kate said 

"Okay, thanks for your help Alyssa," I said

"Of course, Luna," she replied, and I walked inside the house.

Derek's POV

"Is this the Rogue you were telling me about?" I asked one of my trackers

"Yes, Alpha, he is the one that wanted to talk to you about a warlock named Hanson. Said that Hanson wants the Luna, so I decided to bring him to a cell so that you could talk to him,"

"Thanks, you can go now,"

"So this is the Rogue?" Jason asked

"Yeah, did you tell Rose about this," I asked

"No, I told her you needed me to do some Pack stuff but not about this," 

"Good, I don't want her stressing about anything," I said

We walked inside the cell, and the Rogue looked at me

"Alpha Derek, this wasn't the welcome I was expecting for coming to give you valuable information," 

"Who are you, and what does Hanson want with my mate?" I growled

"I am Lance, and if you sit down, I would be happy to tell you," He said

"How about if you tell me, then I won't kill you," I said

"That sounds like a deal," He said, and Jason and I waited for him to begin

"Would you like a stiff drink before I tell you what I know? You seem tense," He said, causing me to growl

"You might want to start speaking before one of us kills you," Jason said

"I am just saying, don't kill the messenger. You are not going to like what I have to say," 

"Just tell me," I growled in my alpha voice

"Okay, Okay," Lance said and then cleared his throat

"So, I know Hanson looks about forty, but he is really in his mid-fifties, and either way, he is way older than your mate, but he wants her," Lance said, causing me to look at him confused

"Wants her for what?" I asked

"To stand by his side as his wife," he said, shaking in his seat. I couldn't help the growl that came out of my mouth.
