Ebony's POV

I thought about what the Moon Goddess told me, and it didn't take long for me to decide that I needed to go back to my life and become Queen. I didn't want to live without Keith, no matter how mean he was to me in the past. I loved him and planned on spending the rest of my life as his Mate.

"I want to go back to my Mate," I told the Moon Goddess, and she smiled.

"Then I will send you back, but first, you deserve to know the truth about something Tabatha showed you. She altered one of the memories, and I will show you what really happened.

Suddenly I saw a bright white light and then was on Keith and My floor. I could see Sandy, Cindy, and Keith. It was the same memory as what Tabatha told me. The Moon Goddess was nice enough not to send me there while they were fucking, which I greatly appreciate.

"Keith would reject her if she were his Mate," I heard Sandy say. I immediately knew she was talking about me. "Isn't that right, Baby?" Sandy asked, placing her hands on Keith's neck and pulling him to her. Keith quickly pulled her arms off him, causing her to look at him with a shocked expression.

"What's wrong, Baby? You would reject her, wouldn't you?" Sandy asked.

"No. I would never reject my Mate. I would love her unconditionally. No matter who it was, she would become my Luna," Keith said

"You can't be serious. Ebony would be a weak Luna," Sandy said

"Are you saying the Moon Goddess would make a mistake and give me a weak Luna?" KEith asked

"No. Of course not. I am only saying Ebony would never be fit to be anyone's Luna. It isn't that big of a deal. It isn't like she would become your Mate anyway," Sandy replied

"But if she were, I would accept and love her," Keith said and laughed. " I would have some serious making up to do. But I would never reject my Mate. Not for you or anyone else," Keith said. I couldn't help the smile that came to my face.

"Now you know the truth," The Moon Goddess replied. Then, all of a sudden, the white light came back. Soon, I heard the sounds of a machine beeping, and I felt a pain in my back.

"Please, Ebony. Please don't leave me. I never had the chance to tell you what really happened that day. Sandy and Cindy asked me what I would do if you were my Luna. I promise what Tabatha told you was not true. I never told them I would reject you," I heard Keith say as I opened my eyes. He was holding my hand and crying.

"I know you didn't," I said, and his eyes landed on mine.

"Ebony, you are awake," Keith said happily. 

"Yes, I am," I gasped. Keith pushed the nurse call button and told them I was awake. Then, he got up and got a cup full of water and placed it on my lips for me to drink. 

"You have no idea how worried I was," Keith said. 

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to worry you," I replied

"You have nothing to be sorry about, My Love. I am happy you are okay. I love you so much," Keith said

"I love you too." The doctor walked inside and checked my vitals and my back, where my mom had stabbed me. 

"Well, you seem to be healing quickly. You should be able to go home in the morning Luna," the doctor said

"Thanks, Doc," Keith said

"Of course, Alpha. I will give the two of you some privacy. I am happy you are fine, Luna Ebony."

"Thanks," I replied

"Ebony. Thank the Goddess, you are alright. You scared me half to death, girl," Raven said, leaning down and hugging me. 

" I am sorry, Raven," I replied, hugging her back. I looked to see Jacob, Abby, my grandparents, and Keith's parents standing there, looking at me and smiling.

"Everything worked how you said it would, Luna," Abby said, smiling at me.

"I still can't believe you two planned this without letting me know," Keith said.

"I am sorry. I had to make it look convincing. I needed Tabatha to believe I was on her side. It was the only way to get her to take me to Alissa and my mom," I said. 

I could see Keith tense at the sound of me talking about my mom. I couldn't help but feel a pain in my chest thinking about my mom stabbing me. I felt like such a fool who always wanted to save and protect her when all she had ever done was hurt me. I knew she meant to kill me when she stabbed me. She doesn't see me as her daughter, and that hurts worse than anything else.

"I wanted to make sure you were alright. I have something I need to do. I will be back later," Jacob said, kissing the top of my head. "I love you, Ebony," Jacob said and walked out of the room. It felt nice hearing him say that to me. My mom never told me she loved me.

"Where do you think he is going?" I asked Keith

"I have no idea."

Jacob's POV

I'm here to see the prisoner," I said, and the guard opened the cell door.

"What do you want?"

"Why? I want the truth this time, Renee. Why did you take my daughter if you were only going to hurt her?" I asked

"You want to know why?" Renee asked

"Yes," I replied

"Because you left me for that bitch. You fucked me, got me pregnant, and once your Mate came along, you left me. I bet you didn't know I rejected my Mate to be with you. And you go and make yours Queen. I was supposed to be your Queen," Renee said

"I never told you I would make you Queen," I said

"Why are you lying to me? Yes, you did," She screamed. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. She said I told her I would make her my Queen, but I never said that. 

"You are crazy," I said, looking at her. 

"NO, I am not. You betrayed me, so The best way to get my revenge was to take your child and make her life hell," Renee said

"She is your child, too," I replied

"She is weak. I never saw her as my child. The only reason I kept her was that her pain made me happy. She wanted me to love her as a mother should. I could see the hope in her eyes that I would one day show her love. I loved destroying that hope from her every day. That is why I kept her."

"I couldn't take it anymore. I knew I told Keith we would let Ebony decide, but I knew Ebony would never do what needed to be done. So, I walked up to her, extended my nails, making them claws, and pushed my hand into her chest tearing her heart out. She looked at me, surprised, before falling out of the chair and to the ground, Dead.

I walked out of her cell with a smile on her face. I wish I had done that sooner.
