Ebony's POV

"Hello, King Jacob. We are so happy to meet you," Tina, one of the Pack Members from Bloodmoon said. 

"It is nice to meet you too. Thank you for coming tonight to hear the news about my oldest daughter taking her place as Queen," Jacob said.

"We wouldn't have missed this. I don't know if Luna Ebony has told you, but I have known her since she was little. I always knew she was special," Tina said. I couldn't help but glare at her. She was one of the members of Bloodmoon that always talked badly about me and my mother. Yes, my mom deserved it, but I was a child. It wasn't right that I had to hear Members of the Pack saying that I was beneath them. I would overhear them saying I was going to end up just like my mother. 

"Is your family close with my daughter?" Jacob asked 

"Yes,"

"No," We both said at the same time. Jacob looked at me with a confused expression on his face. "So you are not close?" Jacob asked

"No, we weren't," I said. 

Keith walked over to me, wrapped his arms around me, and placed his face in the crock of my neck. 

"Well, I think I should get back to my family. I just wanted to tell you how excited I am to meet you, King Jacob," Tina said and walked away.

"How Exactly did you know her? You didn't seem to like that she came up to us," Jacob asked.

"She was one of the Pack Members that used to talk bad about mom and me. She didn't want her children hanging around me because we were from different sides of the Pack. Her family had money, while mom and I didn't. She, along with other Pack Members, used to talk badly about me. Whenever I walked passed them,  I would hear smart comments about how mom and  I were beneath them," I said 

"How old were you when they would say those types of things?" Jacob asked

"The first time I overheard them was when I was six," I said

"Six, how dare they talk about you like that. I need you to tell me everyone that was rude to you," Jacob growled.

"Shh. You are going to cause a scene. I am fine. You don't need to say anything to anyone." I said. I could hear Jacob let out a breath, and I knew he was trying to calm himself.

"Fine, I won't say anything, but if anyone disrespects you, they will be punished," Jacob said

"Thanks," I said, relieved that he wasn't going to go after Tina.

"I am going to go find Alissa. I haven't seen her for a while," Jacob said and walked away. 

"Are you alright, My Love?" Keith asked

"I am fine," I replied.

"Are you upset with me about Rachel?" Keith asked

"I am not upset at you, but I don't like her. I don't want to talk about that right now. We have a lot of guests here," I said 

"Okay, but I would like to take to you after everyone leaves," Keith said 

"Alright," I replied. Keith and I talked to some Pack Members until the Royal Council came to get us so we could go on stage. 

"Hello, everyone. Tonight has been a great night. Before we end this celebration, we wanted to ask if anyone has any questions for the future King and Queen?" 

"When will they be taking over as King and Queen?" One of the Members asked

"In a few months. We will hold a Celebration, and all werewolves will be invited to witness them become the Queen and King of Werewolves."

"Are there any more questions?" 

"I have a question," I looked over to see Rachel standing in the back of everyone.

"What is your question?"

"How is a girl that wasn't raised in a Royal setting going to take care of all the Werewolves?" she asked. 

"We can assure you and everyone else that she will make a great Queen," Jacob answered.

"How are you going convince us of that? I have known Ebony, I mean Luna Ebony, since we were kids, and she has always been soft-spoken and scared to take up for herself. I am sure she will not have the strength to stand up for everyone if we need her to," Rachel said. I looked around to see everyone looking at me. They were all silent and waiting for an answer.

"Ebony is not the weak girl you are describing, She is my Mate, and before she chose to take her place as Queen, she has been the Luna of this Pack. If you ask any of the Members here in Silvermoon, they will tell you how wonderful Ebony has been. I will also be by her side, so she will have me to help her as well," Keith said

"No offense Alpha Keith but we need a strong Queen just as much as we need a strong King. Luna Ebony would need to be able to Rule without you because what happens if you are unable to be by her side?" Rachel asked

"If by any chance something was to happen to me, Ebony would be able to take care of everyone. She is strong with or without me," Keith said. I could see he was getting angry with Rache,l and, to be honest, so was I.

"I am sorry, Alpha Keith, but I am not convinced and from the look on Luna Ebony's face, I don't think she is convinced either. I think I should ask her," Rachel said, and then she looked at me. "Do you believe you'll be able to take care of all of us if Keith wasn't there with you for some reason?" Rachel asked. 

I began to feel nervous, looking at everyone staring back at me. Everyone was waiting for me to answer Rachel's question. "I promise  I will do my best to make a great Queen," I said. 

"That is enough questions at this time. Thank you all for coming," Jacob said before Rachel could ask another question. 

"Are you alright, Ebony?" Jacob asked. He and Keith were looking at me with concerned expressions on their faces.

"I am fine. Excuse me for a moment," I said and walked away from the crowd. I needed to moment to breathe.
