Rose Bailey: My Mate, My Flower Chapter 39

Rose's POV

"What are you two cooking?" I asked as I went down to the main kitchen. Lisa and my mom were downstairs, cooking in the main kitchen of the Packhouse

"We decided to cook lunch for the pack today," Lisa said with a smile.

I sat on a chair at the table watching them cook.

"Hey everyone," Kate said as she came downstairs. She sat next to me at the table.

"Hey," I said and smiled at her.

Kate and I talked, while our moms cooked lunch. They said they didn't need any help and that they were almost done with everything. 

"Are you girls happy tomorrow Monday?" My mom asked 

"No," We both said in unison, causing them to laugh

"We actually wanted to talk to you girls about something,"  Aunt Lisa said and sat next to us

We looked at each other then back at her, waiting for her to continue.

"We know that you both went to the party on Friday," My mom said

Kate and I stayed quiet, not knowing how to respond to that.

"We are upset that you two would sneak out and go to that party. We told you no and you didn't listen."

"We know and we're sorry," I said

"We trusted you two. Don't think we don't know that Kate and Kayla came back drunk out of your minds. I saw you, Kate, you could barely walk that night. You both need to make better decisions. Rose, I understand that you are independent but Derek is your mate and you need to communicate with him and let him know where you are. We told you that he is of Alpha blood and will be more protective of you than the normal Werewolf. He almost lost his mind when he thought something happened to you" Aunt Lisa said

"I know! Derek and I have already talked about that. I guess I never really thought of how he would feel if I snuck out. I promised him I would never leave like that again," I said honestly 

"Yeah and I promise to never drink again, I felt like I would die," Kate said seriously

"I just hope the two of you have learned from that experience. I'm happy James and Nathan were with you. I don't even want to think what those guys would have tried to do to you if you all went alone," My mom said

"So as punishment, the two of you will be cooking dinner for the pack for the next two weeks." My mom said and went back to cooking.

"But there's a lot of Pack Members here," Kate said.

"Yeah and what about James," I asked 

"We didn't tell him not to go. He made sure the two of you were protected at that party," My mom said and I couldn't help but roll my eyes. 

"He always gets away with everything, " I said to myself.

Kate and I ended up going outside and taking a walk through the Pack Territory.

"I can't believe you're brother didn't get in any trouble. He snuck out too," Kate said

"I can! He always gets away with everything" I told her. 

Just then, I heard someone crying.

"Did you hear that?" Kate asked. she must have heard it too

"Yeah! It sounds like it's coming from the woods" I said

Just then I heard a scream and started to run through the trees

"Rose wait," Kate screamed but I kept going

I looked around and saw someone on the ground. They were holding their leg as if it was hurting.

"Are you ok?" I asked as I walked up to the person. 

I was shocked when I saw who it was.

"Vivian, what happened?"

"Oh Rose, thank the Goddess you're here. I was walking through the woods and someone attacked me. I barely got away" She said

"What's going on," Kate said from behind me

"It's Vivian! She's hurt, go get help" I said 

Kate had a weird look on her face like she was thinking about something. I figured out she was mink linking someone. 

"I just mind linked Derek he said he will be here shortly," Kate said

I looked over at Vivian and she looked like she was upset about something. I didn't think about it too much. I knew she and Kate didn't get along. I didn't get along with her considering I was the mate of the guy she wanted. This whole situation was awkward.

"Can you walk?" Kate asked her and she nodded.

"It is just very painful," She said

About five minutes later, Derek and Jace came out of the wood shirtless. I couldn't help but stare at Derek's naked chest. He was so sexy that it should be illegal to look so good. He noticed me looking at him and smirked.

Derek came over to me and put his arms around me, While Jace went over to his sister.

"Are you ok Flower!" Derek asked me. I could tell he was concerned

"I am fine. Kate and I were going on a walk and heard Vivian scream. She said someone attacked her." I told him

"Can you walk?" Jace asked Vivian

"Yeah it just hurts," She said 

"Let's get her to the Pack Doctor," Jace said

Jace and Kate helped her walk to the Packhouse, while Derek and I followed behind.

"You sure you're ok baby?" Derek asked me

I could tell he was worried about something

"Yeah, nothing happened to me. Why, what's wrong?" I asked him

"I have something to talk to you about later when we are alone," He said and nodded.

I had a feeling that whatever Derek wanted to talk about was important.
