Rose Bailey: My Mate, My Flower Chapter 56

Mark's POV

"Are you okay, son?" My father asked.

I took one of my cigarettes and lighter from my pocket and lit it. Before responding, I took a few puffs. 

"I'm not sure, Dad. How would you feel if you found out your mother was an evil witch who drugged your father for her to become pregnant by him? Not to mention she tricked him into thinking he was her mate, "I said while looking him in the eyes. 

"Now, tell me how you feel right now, dad," I asked. 

"I know it's a lot to find out in one day, but you must relax. We'll need each other to defeat whatever comes our way.

"What about Mom?" I asked. Even though we didn't always get along, she was still my mother. 

"I'm not sure, son," he admitted.

We stood there in silence, not knowing what to say. 

"Are you mad that she tricked you into having me?" I inquired. 

He turned to face me and placed his hand on my shoulder. 

"I don't like that she drugged me, but I wouldn't have you if she hadn't. I love you, and you are my son. So I wouldn't change anything about that night." He stated 

I could tell he was telling the truth when I looked into his eyes.

I wish she hadn't used a spell to trick me into thinking she was my mate." He said  

I couldn't help but laugh. 

"I'm not sure why she chose to do that. At the packhouse, she has always seemed to be miserable." I said

I stopped laughing and turned back to face him. 

"I don't want her to get hurt. She is still my mother,  "I said seriously. 

"I know, son." 

After a while, we returned to Derek's parents' room. When we arrived, everyone was already sitting at the table, talking. Lilly smiled as she looked up at my father. When I looked over at him, I noticed he was also smiling. 

I couldn't believe my mother would want to separate them. It wasn't Lilly's fault she was sent to Thunder Moon. But, I also felt sorry for my mother and what she suffered as a child.

I wanted to talk to my mother and tell her everything that was going on. But I wasn't sure if that was a good idea. I was confused.  

My father and I took our seats. 

"Are you alright?" Jason asked

"Yeah, man, just needed some air," I replied. 

 "So, what are we supposed to do now?" Derek asked.

"We need to start training Rose, so she's ready. I believe we should start tomorrow," Joyce suggested. 

"Are you okay with that, Flower?" Derek asked, looking at Rose.

"Yeah, I think it's for the best," Rose replied

"Alright, then we'll start in the morning," Joyce said 

"We will wait until she returns home from school. She is still in high school and must graduate. She already missed today because of yesterday's events."  Lilly stated 

"Okay, then we'll start after school. Mark, you should also receive training. As I said before, you are behind in your training." Joyce stated, and I nodded.

"We must make sure that Rose is always protected," Joyce said

"I've already spoken with Principal Davis. She is a member of the Pack. "She arranged for me to be a teacher's aide in all her classes," Derek explained. 

"Good, because Marcus will not stop trying to get her. He believes she should be with him," Joyce said, causing Derek to growl. 

"He will never take her away from me," he said, taking Rose's hand. They both smiled lovingly at each other.

Derek, you must train her to be physically prepared for the first time she shifts. I'll make sure she's okay mentally," Lilly said, and Derek nodded. 

"Do you know when she'll shift for the first time?"  Derek asked, looking at Joyce. 

"No. All I know is that Rose will shift before she turns 18." Joyce responded

"We can't tell anyone what we discussed here." We don't know who we can trust," Alpha Michael explained. 

"Yesterday, Vivian and Jacob returned to the packhouse. Jace informed me that they had also been kidnapped. When Jace asked where Rose was, they said they tried to save her. I told Jace to act as if she was still missing. They are in a room, thinking we want their assistance in finding Rose." Derek said

"Do you believe we can trust Jace? He is Jacob's son and Vivian's twin, "I asked. 

"I believe we can. He has always been loyal and distinct from his sister and father. I don't think he or his mother know what they have been up to, "Derek said, and I nodded. 

"I'm going to question Vivian and Jacob when we leave here. Rose, I'd like you to stay with your mother and father while I'm away." Derek stated 

"Okay," she said. 

"I'll come with you," I said. 

"So will I," Jason replied.

"Does anyone else have anything to say?" Alpha Michael asked, and every one no. 

"Good. Rose will begin her training tomorrow, "Alpha Michael said, and we all left his room. 

"Do you believe they'll tell us anything?" Jason asked as we walked towards the room Vivian and Jacob were being held. 

"They will talk even if I have to force them to," Derek said, and I knew he wasn't lying.
