Werewolf
Rose Bailey: My Mate, My Flower Chapter 191
Ebony's POV
"You seem worried, Love. Are you still thinking about Alissa?" Keith asked. It had been three hours since we came home from the Pack Hospital. I couldn't stop thinking about what happened to Alissa. The Doctor had run some tests and just as we expected, Alissa had been given wolfbane.
"I just don't understand how Alissa was given wolfbane without her knowledge. She was acting as if nothing happened. Like she hasn't been missing for three days," I said
"I know. It doesn't make sense to me either," Keith said
"And why is Alice acting as if nothing is wrong? Shouldn't she be upset that her daughter was missing and had been injected with wolfbane?" I said
"I don't know. Alice is the one that told us that Alissa does this type of thing a lot. She said she was most likely with a friend. Maybe someone put it in her drink while she was at the party she went to," Keith said
"Maybe," I said
"Look, Love. I think you are overthinking this. Let's just be happy that she is back and well," Keith said
"I guess," I said and Keith came over to me and hugged me close.
"She is back now, My Love. Don't worry," Keith said. I decided to let everything go. Alissa said she was at a friend's house and came back unharmed despite the bruise on her forehead. Maybe I was overthinking everything.
"Come on, let's go for a walk," Keith said and we left our floor.
"Ebony, I wanted to talk to you for a moment," Alice said
"Yes, what would you like to talk about?" I asked
"Your party is this weekend and I needed to go shopping for a dress. You are going to need one as well. Would you like to go shopping with me this weekend?" Alice asked
"Can't you just have someone come to the Palace with a brochure full of dresses?" Keith asked
"I like going to the stores myself," Alice said with a smile on her face
"I don't want Ebony going out without protection after what happened the other day," Keith said
"We will have guards with us the whole time," Alice said
'I would love to go shopping with you, Alice," I said and Keith looked at me. I could tell he didn't want me to go with her.
"Great, how about we go tomorrow morning? I promise she will be safe with me, Keith. There will be plenty of guards with us," Alice said and she walked away.
"I don't think you should go with her tomorrow, Love. I don't trust her," Keith said
"Don't worry, Baby. Everything will be fine. She said that there will be Guards with us so we will be safe," I said
"I guess you are right," Keith replied
"Come on, let's go get something to eat," I said and we went to a pizza restaurant around the corner from the palace. I didn't want to tell Keith, but I had a bad feeling about Alice and wanted to see if my feelings were right. I felt like there was something off with her.
"You have a seat and I will order our food," Keith said and I found a table and sat down. Suddenly a woman sat down beside me. She looked to be in her mid-twenties and looked homeless. I looked at her waiting for her to say something be she just sat there staring at me
"Is there something I can do for you?" I asked
"You need to watch out for the Queen," the lady said
"What do you mean I need to watch out for the Queen?" I asked
"The Queen doesn't like competition. You are in her way from getting what she wants. You can't trust her because she is a bad person. She has the king fooled because he is her Mate but everyone else knows who she really is," She said
"Who is she?" I asked
"She is an evil woman. She cares for no one but herself. She doesn't even care for her own daughter," she said, and then she grabbed my hand suddenly, which caused me to flinch. "You are the true heir to the throne and she hates you for it. You need to get away from her before it is too late," the woman said
"Hey, what are you doing?" Keith asked and the woman quickly stood up and ran away
"Wait," I called after her but she didn't turn around
'What did she say to you?" Keith asked
"Nothing, she just wanted to say hi," I lied. I didn't want him to know what really happened. If he knew he would make us leave the Palace that night. I needed to figure out what Alice was up to. I felt like the only person I could ask that might know something was Alissa. The problem was that I didn't know if she would tell me anything about her mother. She did warn me that it was best to stay out of her mom's way.
I could tell that Keith suspected that the lady said more to me than what I told him but he didn't ask me anything else about her. We ate our food in silence and all I could think about was what the lady said to me. I made up my mind that after we were done eating, I was going to go talk to Alissa to see if she would tell me anything.
