Ebony's POV

"One of my warriors mind-linked me just now. Alissa has escaped her room." Keith said, causing Jacob and me to look at him

"That's impossible. I checked on her right before I came to find the two of you. They must be mistaken," Jacob said.

"I am sure they are not mistaken," Keith said and began to walk to the Packhouse. Jacob and I followed after him. 

"How could she have gotten out without the guards seeing her?" I asked

"I don't know," Keith replied.

Walking on the floor that Jacob and Alissa were sharing, I could see Mark speaking to the Guards that were supposed to be watching Alissa. They were holding onto their heads, mostly groaning as if in pain. I saw one of them holding their head as if it hurt.

Mark walked over to us when he saw us. "What is going on, Mark? Did they tell you how she was able to get away?" Keith asked.

"They said they have no idea what happened. They were all watching the Princess, and suddenly they all passed out. They said they woke up on the ground, and when they went to check on the Princess, she was gone," Mark said. 

Jacob walked around the room, calling Alissa's name. It was like he didn't want to believe Alissa was gone. "She's gone," Jacob said when he walked back into the room. I couldn't help but feel bad for him. It seemed as though he was losing everyone, his Mate and now his daughter. 

"We need to find her," Jacob said.

"Yes, we do, but the only way we can do that is by figuring out what happened. How did she get out of the room, and why did the Guards blackout?" Keith said 

"Could they have been drugged? It is the only logical explanation for why they would all blackout at the same time," I replied.

"That might be what happened," Keith replied

" But who could have drugged them? We haven't let anyone else on this floor besides the Guards that you trusted to make sure that no one that is working with Alice gets to Alissa," I said.

"That is true," Keith said. Then I heard a growl come from Jacob, causing Keith and me to look at him.

"What's wrong?" I asked

"I let someone up here today before I left. He offered to speak to Alissa and make sure she was okay," Jacob growled. He was upset and looked like he would shift at any minute. "I can't believe he would betray me like this."

"Who? Who did you let in the room to speak to her?" I asked

"Alistar," Jacob replied

"Why would you let him up here? I thought we agreed not to let anyone on this floor besides the Guards," Keith growled.

"I know. But Alistar has been like family since forever. He was a great warrior when he was younger. I never thought he would do something like this. When I find him, he is dead," Jacob said

"Mark, I need you to tell all the warriors and trackers to meet us at the fighting field. We need to find Alissa quickly," Keith said. Keith, Jacob, and I went to the fighting field while Mark went to gather all the warriors and trackers.

"This isn't good. I am sure Alistar is on the Queen's side and wants Alissa to become Queen instead of Ebony," Keith said

"But why would he want Alissa to become Queen when he knows that Ebony is my firstborn? He knows that Ebony is the only one that has the power to Rule as Queen," Jacob said

"I don't know why he would want Alissa to be Queen instead of Ebony. You are the one that said you had known him forever. Why do you think he would rather Alissa be Queen than Ebony?" Keith asked. Jacob glared at Keith for speaking to him the way he did, but then his glare changed to looking like he finally realized something.

"Fuck, I know why he wants Alissa to become Queen," Jacob said

"Why?" I asked

"Alistar has always had a problem with Omegas. He feels as though Omegas are beneath him and don't deserve to share the same air as him," Jacob said, causing Keith to growl.

"Are you calling My Mate and Omega?" Keith asked

"No, I would never call my daughter an Omega. She has Royal blood, my blood running through her veins," Jacob growled. I could see that both of them were losing control.

"Stop it. Both of you," I said and put my hand on Keith's shoulder. He looked at me and then wrapped his arms around me. "We need to figure all of this out, and we won't be able to do that if you two keep arguing," I said, looking at Keith and then Jacob. 

"Ebony is right. I am sorry," Keith said

"I understand your frustration. It's okay," Jacob said

"Please continue what you were telling us," I said

"When I started messing around with Ebony's mom. Alistar didn't approve of our relationship because she was an Omega. He kept telling me that Omegas were filthy and didn't deserve to be with a high-rank wolf, better yet, the future king. When I told him that I had gotten your mother pregnant with you, he lost it and said that I had messed up the future for all werewolves. He apologized later, saying he was upset that I got someone that wasn't my Mate pregnant. Even though I didn't understand why he was so upset, I forgave him and forgot all about that conversation." He said and then looked at me to make sure I  was listening. KEith and I looked at him silently, waiting for him to continue. 

"Soon after, I met Alice and discovered she was my Mate. I broke every off with your mother but told her I wanted to be a father to you. I told her she could have her own private area in the castle and woudl never have to work again, and she agreed," Jacob said 

"I thought you were going to take me from my mom," I said 

"No. I was worried that she wouldn't be the best mother to you, but I wouldn't take you away from her unless she gave me a reason. That night when you were born, and she left with you, I could see that Alistar wasn't all that mad. He told me I shouldn't be sad because now I could have a child with my Mate, and they would be able to rule better. We got into it, and he made said he didn't mean it in a bad way. That he was only trying to cheer me up, I should have never trusted him. I wouldn't be surprised if he helped Alice get your mom and you out of the castle when you were a baby," Jacob finished.

"We have to find them and soon. I am sure they are already planning away to make Alissa Queen. I am sure they are already planning for my death. If they succeed and I die, the werewolf community will be destroyed."
