Ebony's POV

"You did fantastic answering everyone's questions. Thank the Goddess you didn't mess everything up when you ran out of the room," Thomas said. I could see Keith glaring at him from beside me. I could tell he didn't like the comment he just made about me leaving the room after Rachel's questions. I held onto his hand wanting him to calm down.

"You really did, Ebony. I am so proud of you," Jacob said and I couldn't help but smile. My mom had never told me she was proud of me and it felt good to hear that from a parent. 

"Thank you," I said. Keith grabbed my hand and I looked at him to see him smiling at me. I knew he could feel how happy I was and I knew that was making him even happier. Uncle Michael came up to me with the Twin Alphas of the Red Moon Pack. They were known to be ruthless and cold. They had taken over their father's pack at only twelve years old. Now they were twenty-one years old and everyone knew not to fuck with them.

"Hello, Luna Ebony, Alpha Keith. 

"Hello," Keith said.

"We wanted to tell you that we believe you will make an excellent Queen. It doesn't matter that you were not raised with wealth and fortune. I believe you are just who we need to make things better for all of us," one of the Twins said. I was shocked because I never thought they would be the first to come up to me and tell me how great of a Queen I will be.

"Thank you. That means a lot," I said

"We should get going. We have some things to take care of back at Red Moon. If either of you needs anything don't hesitate to call."

"Thanks," Keith said shaking their hands and then they left.

"That was shocking," I said.

"Why?" Keith asked.

"Because the most dangerous Alphas told me I will make a great Queen."

"They told you that because it is the truth, and they are not that bad," Keith said.

"How would you know?" I asked.

"Because we are friends. We used to hand out all the time before they took over their Pack. I go over there sometimes and hang out with them. and they sometimes come here. 

"I didn't know that but I guess I wouldn't Know who your friends are, besides the one from school because you and I didn't hang out," I said.

"Since I found out about you being my Mate they haven't been around as much because they have been having Pack issues. But I promise you they aren't as bad as everyone makes them seem," Keith said.

Other Members said their goodbyes to Keith and me. I was shocked to see how many different Packs told me how happy they were that I was taking over as Queen. A lot of them seemed to feel I would be a great Queen. They believe that because I was raised in poverty I would be able to relate with most werewolves. Most werewolves were not higher-ranked wolves. They were ordinary ones that worked normal jobs like in restaurants or maids. They were the ones that ran all the stores around the Pack Community. 

One of the Lunas asked me what I believe we should do if there is a mother in the Pack that is abusing their child. I was pretty sure she asked me that question because she had heard about how my mother had treated me. After my mom had gotten locked up for trying to help the Queen get rid of me, everyone seemed to have heard about it.

Instead of becoming embarrassed, I answered her question by telling her that it is important to investigate those types of situations because the children of our Pack should always come first. 

"Didn't your mother used to abuse you? Are you upset with how Alpha Michael handled the situation? It seems that since you spent your whole childhood under her care until you met your Mate, nothing was done," another member asked.

"Alpha Michael and Luna Lisa always took care of me. They are like family to me and I was mostly with them than with my mom. If it wasn't for them, I might not be here today. I also didn't tell them how bad my mom was treating me because I didn't want her to get in trouble. That is another thing that everyone should know. Even if a child is abused most won't tell because they don't want their parents getting punished," I replied.

"There you are, Alissa. Where have you been?" Jacob asked.

"I decided to go for a walk. It looks like everything went well," Alissa replied.

"Yes, it did. Your sister did amazing. She is a natural leader," Jacob said with a smile on his face.

"That's good. Ebony, I was wondering if you would like to hang out tomorrow. Maybe go out to lunch or something. It seems that we haven't hung out in a while," Alissa asked shocking me. She has barely said anything to me since the day we went out for lunch when I ran into Kayla. 

"That sounds good," I said.

"Great, I am going to go to my room and lay down. I am tired," Alissa said 

"Okay," I replied.

"Are you feeling sick," Jacob asked.

"No, it has been a long day," She said and left. 

"I am worried about her. She hasn't been acting like herself lately," Jacob said.

"I am sure she is just stressed about everything that is going on. She has been through a lot in a little amount of time," I replied.

"I guess you are right. But you have also been through a lot for a longer amount of time and you are doing fine," Jacob said.

"Everyone is different," I said.

"At least she has decided to spend time with you tomorrow. Will you talk to her and make sure she is okay?" Jacob asked.

"Yes, I will talk to her," I replied.
