Ebony's POV

"How have you been, Ebony?" Alissa asked 

"I have been fine. How about you," I asked.

"Good. I heard about you almost being kidnapped. That must have  been scary," Alissa said 

"Yes, it was. Luckily the Pack Warriors saved me. There is no telling what that Rogue would have done to me if they hadn't." I said, and she looked at me like she was thinking about something. 

"Alissa, I know your mom told you I hit her and messed up the room Keith and I were staying in at the Palace, but I promise that isn't true. I didn't even see her after the argument we had at dinner. I hope you believe me," I said. I didn't want Alissa to think that I would hit her mother. I wanted to have a good relationship with her.

"I believe you, Ebony," Alissa said, shocking me. 

"You do? Even after your mom told you I did it," I asked

"My mom has always been the type to exaggerate a situation when she is upset. It isn't the first time she's lied to dad," Alissa said

"Really," I asked, shocked.

"Yeah, she has done it to me a few times," 

'Done what? Lie to Jacob and say you did something you didn't because she is mad?" I asked

"Yeah," She said with a shrug.

"That isn't right, Alissa," I said

"I know," 

"Have you ever told him that she is lying?" I asked

"Yeah, but he never believed me. Dad doesn't think mom can do anything wrong because they are Mates. The Mate bond is strong," She said. I couldn't believe what Alissa had just told me. 

"That is wrong, Alissa," I said

"I know, but what can I do about it? This should show you that mom isn't any better than yours," Alissa said, and I smiled at her sadly, knowing she was right. Her mom mustn't have been as good to her as Alice tried to make it seem. Alissa began to stare into space, and I knew she was mind-linking with someone. "My mom is looking for me. She wants me to go to the room we are staying in and get ready for the dinner we are having with you and Keith tonight," 

"Okay," I said and walked her over to the door,

"See you at dinner," She said and walked away.

"You ready for this dinner?" Keith asked

"I guess," I replied, and Keith wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me to him.

"Don't stress, My Love. Everything is going to be fine. No one is going to start an argument tonight," Keith said 

"I hope you are right," I replied, and then there was a knock on the door.

"I will get that," Keith said. He kissed me before walking over to open the door. "Thank you all for coming. Come on inside," Keith said, and in walked Jacob, Alice and Alissa.

"Hello, Ebony. Thank you for agreeing to this dinner," Jacob said

"Hello," I replied. Alissa came over and hugged me while Jacob wrapped his arms around Alice. 

"Hello, Ebony," Alice said with a smile that I knew was fake.

'Hello," I replied.

"How about we all go to the dining room to eat?" Keith said and pulled my body to his. 

"That sounds good," Jacob said, and we headed to the dining room. 

"I will be right back. I need to get the Lasagna out of the stove," I said and headed to the kitchen. After taking the Lasagna out of the oven, I went to the refrigerator to retrieve the salad I had made earlier. 

"I was wondering if you needed any help?" I heard Alice say as I placed the salad on the table. 

"Everything is done," I replied as I turned to look at her. 

"Everything looks so delicious," Alice said as she walked closer to me.

"Thank you," I replied

"I wanted to apologize to you for what I said at dinner at the Palace that night. I hope we can put all of that behind us and start over," She said. I knew she wasn't being sincere, but I didn't want to cause any arguments. 

"I would like to start over. Thank you for apologizing," I said. Alice took the salad out to the table while I took the Lasagna. I placed the Lasagna on the table and sat next to Keith.

"Is everything okay?" Keith asked

"Yes, everything is fine," I replied

Keith's POV

"Thanks for having us tonight. Dinner was amazing." King Jacob said 

"I am happy that you all came," I replied

"Me too, and I am happy that Ebony has decided to give me another chance. I apologized to her for everything I said at the Palace, and  she accepted," Alice said 

"That is great," Jacob said, hugging Alice close to him.

I didn't trust Alice, especially after her guard told me that she was the one that told him to kidnap Ebony. I told Jacob but didn't know if he believed me, but I was going to prove that she wanted my Mate gone. One thing I knew was that I would not let Ebony go anywhere alone with her.

"Alpha Edward told me you two were having your Ceremonies this weekend. I hope you don't mind if we come to the Alpha and Luna Ceremony," Jacob said

"Of course not. I would love for you to come," Ebony said 

'Great. I will see you later," Jacob said and then hugged Ebony before they left. 

"What did Alice say to you in the kitchen? I asked

"She apologized for what she said to me. I don't believe her, though. I know she is hiding something," Ebony said

"I think she is hiding something too,"
