Rose Bailey: My Mate, My Flower Chapter 149

"Are you okay, Ebony," Kate asked.

"Yes, just tired," I said.

Everyone has commented that Keith and I are mates the whole day at school. Some said we would be a great couple, but most comments were negative.

Most said we did not look right together and that the Moon Goddess must have made a mistake. I couldn't help but wonder if they were right. On the other hand, nobody dared to say anything rude about me in front of Keith.

Keith was a powerful, soon-to-be Alpha. I was supposed to be Luna, but how could I? I knew nothing about being Luna. I was worried that I would be a horrible leader. An Alpha needed someone strong to help them lead, and I was weak.

The bell rang, and it was time for lunch. Kate and I grabbed our books and headed to the door. Keith was waiting for me at the door as he had in every other class.

"Hey Love, how was class," He asked.

"It was fine," I said

"Hey Kate," he said

"Hi," Kate replied. However, Kate still didn't trust Keith. She was worried that he would hurt me because of our past.

I could tell that Keith knew because of her facial expression and voice that she didn't like him.

"Kate, I wanted to ask you if we could start over. I know you are concerned for Ebony, and I understand because of how I treated her in the past. I know that Ebony and you are like family, and she would love your support. Will you give me a chance," He asked.

She looked at him for a moment and then back at me. I knew she was debating if she should give him a chance.

"Fine, I will give you one chance, but if you hurt her, I will kill you. We are not like family; we are family," Kate said, causing me to smile.

"Thank You, and I promise I will never hurt her again,"

We all walked to the cafeteria. Once we got there, he took me to the table where he usually sits. Mark and Raven were already there eating with his friends. I was nervous about sitting with all of his friends. All they ever did was bully me.

Kate went to find Kayla and let her know we were sitting at Keith's table. He had asked her if she wanted to sit with us, and she agreed.

"Go ahead and sit. I will be back with our food," Keith said, and I sat next to Raven, who was already smiling at me.

"Hey," Raven said

"Hey," I replied

All of Keith's friends were looking at me. The guys and some girls said hi and were friendly to me, while most of the females were staring daggers into me. I could tell they didn't like the fact that I was Keith's mate.

Keith came back with two trays full of food. We were werewolves and could eat a lot, but I was not used to eating much. I would be lucky to get one good meal, usually, at the diner I worked at. There was never much food at my mom's house. I was the one that went to the store and bought the food, and I didn't make much money.

"Here you go, Love," Keith said and placed the tray in front of me.

"Thank You," I said and picked up a fry.

Keith watched me as I only ate a burger and some of the fries.

"Won't you eat more?" He asked me once I pushed the tray aside

"I am full," I said

"Just a little more," he asked, picked up a fry, and placed it in my mouth.

His action surprised me, everyone at the table, and other watchful eyes around the cafeteria. I bit the fry instantly like it was the right thing to do. But, after realizing what I had done, my cheeks heated up from embarrassment. Keith smiled at me and placed his hand on my cheek, caressing it.

"So beautiful," He said

Sandy and Cindy came over to the table and sat down.

"So you two are still together?" Sandy asked

"Yes, Sandy, we are together, and I plan on keeping it that way," Keith said

"Whatever! I am over you anyway, but I will warn you, Ebony. He will do you the same way he did me. You are not good enough to be an Alpha's mate or Luna," Sandy said

"That's enough, Sandy. You will not disrespect my mate. If you are mad at anyone, it should be. If you have anything to say to anyone, it should be me. I will not let you or anyone else disrespect her," Keith growled, causing Sandy to flinch and me to feel butterflies from his words.

"Whatever! Come on, Cindy. Let's eat somewhere else," Sandy said, and they left.

"Kate looked at me with a smile on her face. I couldn't help the smile that came onto mine from him taking up for me.
