Nine Days Later

Rose's POV

"Let me help you, Luna Rose," Stacy, one of the Pack Members, said and grabbed the math book I needed and handed it to me.

"Thanks, Stacy," I said and walked back to where Kayla and Kate were sitting. We were in the library because we all had a free period. We all decided to prepare for the math quiz we had to take tomorrow. 

"You need to listen to Derek and finish school at home," Kate said 

"I don't want to. I want to finish school like a normal senior," I said, and Kate laughed

"You are pregnant, mated, married, and a Luna, Rose. You are definitely not the normal senior," Kate said, and I pouted

"She is right, Rose; you should finish at home. I don't want you going into labor at the school," Kayla said

My babies were growing faster than expected, and it seemed like they were closer to being ready to be born every day. Sally said they could be ready to be born in about three weeks, but it could be sooner. Derek asked if it was safe for me to go to school, and Sally said it was, and that is what I planned to do.

 The bell rang, and we headed to our next class. I had gym next while they had science, so we went our separate ways. I looked over at the Warrior that Derek assigned to follow me. I understood that I was a Luna and needed protection, but he has been very protective over me lately. I feel like he is hiding something from me because he has been more defensive than usual. 

After school, I walked to my locker to see Derek waiting for me there. 

"Hey, baby," I said and pulled him close to me and kissed him passionately, not caring who was watching. 

"I missed you, Flower," Derek said 

I put my books away and went to the car. 

"Have you thought about finishing school from home?" Derek asked me 

"I want to stay as long as I can," I said

"Always so stubborn," He mumbled, and I looked over at him. He placed his hand in mine, sending sparks all through my body.

"You know I want you to be safe. Sally said you could go into labor at any time, and you are not supposed to use your powers right now because of the stress it could cause. It would be best if you stay home with me," he said

I thought about what he was saying and decided he had a point. 

"Okay, I will finish the senior year at home, but I want to finish the rest of this week," I said

"Deal, but after Friday, you will finish at home," he said with a smile. I knew he was happy that I finally agreed with him. 

Friday Morning

"Are you sure you want to go to school today? I don't want you overdoing it," Derek asked. I could tell he was worried. The pregnancy has gotten to me in the last couple of days. Sally said I have at least two weeks until they are ready to be born, but Aaliyah keeps telling me it will be sooner. I want to get through this last day of school.

"I am fine, Derek, just tired. I will be fine," I said

"Are you sure, Rose?" 

"Yes, besides, Kate is here, and all those warriors you have watched me, so I will be fine," I said 

"Okay, I will be here for lunch," Derek said and kissed me softly

"I love you," I said and got out of the car. 

I walked in to see Kate waiting for me. She always gets out of the car to give Derek and me our privacy. 

"Ready for your last day at school?" Kate asked 

"Yeah," I replied, and we walked to class. 

"I have to go to the bathroom. I will be back," I said, leaving the class to go to the bathroom. The bell hadn't rung yet, and I had plenty of time to make it to class. 

After the incident at the club when I was kidnapped, Derek ensured I had female guards who could accompany me to the restroom. I walked inside with Sara, the female guard walking in front of me. Suddenly I felt a cramp and knew it was a contraction. I had been having Braxton Hicks Contractions, so it was normal. Sally said it was normal when I told her about them. 

"Hello, Rose," I heard a masculine voice say but didn't see anyone.

Suddenly Sara fell to the ground and was unconscious. 

"Who is there?" I asked, and then I saw Hanson, the man that Veronica tried to help kidnap me, suddenly appear.

I was about to use my magic, but then Aaliyah stopped me.

"Don't, or you will hurt our pups," she said

"What am I supposed to do?" I asked, 

"Derek," I mind-linked, but he didn't answer

"He can't hear you, Rose," Hanson said as he walked closer to me

"Stay away from me," I said

"You would think your mate would have learned by now not to leave you alone. But, oh well, he is making this really easy for me," Hanson said, and then darkness took over.
