Rose Bailey: My Mate, My Flower Chapter 52

Jacob's POV

"I can't believe that bitch would betray us like that, "I grumbled.

"We were so close to getting rid of that witch, and Chloe had to ruin it all." 

"What are we going to do now?" Vivian inquired. 

"We're going back to the Packhouse and pretend we don't know anything," I said. 

"They're probably wondering what happened to us. What are we going to tell them?" Vivian  asked

I knew she was right. We'd been gone for nearly five hours. They'd be wondering where we were. I needed to figure out how to make them trust us. Then it came to me. 

"We're going to pretend we were kidnapped and escaped. We will say that Chloe, and some other witch, kidnapped both you and me, but we managed to get away." 

"And how about Rose? They are going to ask if we have seen her," She inquired. 

"We'll say we tried but failed to save her. We'll say she was in a different room than us, and we couldn't find her, "I said 

"Okay! That sounds convincing, "Vivian said as we walked home. 

"Dad! Vivian! I've been looking everywhere for you. What happened? where have you two been?" Jace, my son, asked as we entered Bloodmoon's territory. 

"Witches abducted us. Max's mate, Chloe, was involved in our kidnapping," I said 

Jace looked confused by what I said. 

"We must inform Derek. A witch also kidnapped Rose today. Have you seen her?" Jace asked 

"We saw her briefly before they took her to a separate room. We looked for her everywhere, but we couldn't find her. Then we came home." I said

"Where were the two of you kept?" Asked one of the trackers 

"We weren't far away from here. There is an old house in the woods, ' I answered. 

 "We searched the woods for hours and couldn't find anything." The tracker said

"Derek said that they concealed their scent. Is Rose still there" Jace asked.

"No! They took her somewhere else," I replied. 

Someone was being mind-linked by Jace. I had a good feeling he was speaking to Derek. 

"Derek said he'd like to speak with you tomorrow." Let's return to the Packhouse. I'm sure you're both exhausted," He said as we walked towards the Packhouse. 

Jace's POV

"Are you all right? You appear to be concerned about something?" my mate Lacy asked. 

"I'm fine! It's just been a long day," I said as I kissed her on her forehead. 

"I'm just relieved Rose is okay. Derek would have lost it if something had happened to her. I'm going to see her tomorrow. See if she wants to hang out and go shopping or something," she suggested. 

"That's a good idea. You should spend time together and get to know each other."

"After what happened today, I don't think Derek will let her out of his sight for a while," I said. 

"At the Packhouse, I could at least hang out with her," she said as she lay in bed. 

I was right next to her, holding her close. She promptly fell asleep in my arms. 

I couldn't sleep because I was preoccupied with something. Derek told me something through mind-link that I couldn't believe. When I mind-linked him and told him I had found my father and Vivian, he said they had something to do with Rose's kidnapping. 

He claimed Rose told him they were in the woods when she was abducted. My father asked that they hand her over to him so he could get rid of her.

They betrayed my father and took her instead. Derek warned me not to tell Vivian or my father about Rose's discovery. So we haven't told all the pack members that Rose has been found. Just in case someone else was involved in her kidnapping.

I didn't want to believe them, but many things made sense. When the Rogues attacked, my father and Vivian had just vanished. He claimed they were kept nearby in the woods, but there was no trace of them. When we checked the only nearby old house, it was empty. 

I glanced over at Lacy and decided to try to sleep. I knew it was going to be a long day tomorrow. I buried my face in her hair and inhaled her wonderful scent. I dozed off shortly after.
