Rose Bailey: My Mate, My Flower Chapter 25

Rose's POV

"Hi, mom," I said as Jason and I walked into her room

"Hi, Sweetie! How are you feeling today? I know that was a lot to take in yesterday," She said worriedly

"I'm fine."

"Mom, we need to talk to you about something important," Jason said as he sat on a chair.

I sat on the chair next to Jason, and my mom sat on the one across from us.

"Well, I can tell it's important by the expression on your faces. What's up?" She asked

"Yesterday we went to the Silver Moon Pack and met Max," He said 

Everyone was quiet for a moment, not knowing what to say.

"Are you two ok?" She asked

"Of course, we are, mom. We hope you are not mad at us for not telling you. We didn't want to say anything about it until we knew how it would go." Jason said

"I am ok, baby. After we moved here, I knew you would want to meet your father one day. I am not upset with either of you for going. I just wanted to make sure that he didn't say anything that would hurt you in any way." She said, and I was relieved

I was worried that she would feel betrayed by us going to meet him. I am so happy she is ok with it.

"He was fine, mom. He wants to talk to you. He said that there was some misunderstanding that he wants to clear up with you." I told her

"Really, and what was the misunderstanding he is talking about," She asked

" He said that he didn't want you to leave town. That he was in some accident, and then you were gone. He tried to convince me that he never told you he didn't want you or us. He said he cared for you," I told her 

"I can't believe him. You know what, I think I will meet with him and remind him of everything he said to me. He is going through some kind of amnesia." My mom said sarcastically

"Ok, I will call him," Jason said and pulled out his phone. He dialed his number

"Hello Max, this is Jason. My mom said she would meet with you. Yes, she is here. ok, hold on." Jason said and looked up at my mom

"He said he wants to speak with you."

"Tell him I'm busy and ask him where he wants to meet."  

"My moms, oh, you heard her." He said and listened for a moment

"He said he wants to meet at your special place," Jason said

"When," She asked

"He said can you meet him in an hour?"

"Tell him I'll be there," She finished. 

Jason ended the call and looked over at my mom, who looked like she was deep in thought.

"You ok, mom?" He asked her worriedly

"Yes, baby, I am fine. Do you mind if I speak to your sister in private" She asked

"Of course not! I will leave you two to talk," He said before exiting her room.

I looked over at my mom, who was looking at me intently. 

"Are you sure you are ok, mom?" I asked her after a while

"Yes, I am fine. How are you? You and Derek seem to be getting close. I know he moved in with you the other night." She said

"We are doing good. Yes, he did move into my room. That alright, isn't it" I asked her

"Yes, sweetie, I haven't talked to you in a while. Is there anything you want to tell me" She asked me

I thought for a moment, wondering if I should tell her. Finally, I decided it would be ok and told her everything that had been happening with us. I told her about Sandy and Cindy. I told her about Vivian. I t even told her about us having sex but left out all the details. 

She listened to everything I said without interrupting me. 

"I can't believe them, girls! You would think they would have grown up by now. I am going to talk with them. If they think they can disrespect you, they have another thing coming." My mom said 

"No, mom, please don't say anything. I have Derek, and he has already told them off. I don't need my mom coming to my rescue."

"It sounds like a lot has been going on. I'm sorry I haven't been around lately. I promise I will start spending more time with you. I believe you and Derek will be fine. Just let me know if you need me to put them in order."

We talked a little longer, then left her to get ready to see Max for the first time in sixteen years.
