Ebony's POV

"I am so happy to see you again, Ebony. Thanks for coming," Alice said and wrapped her arms around me in a hug. I felt a little awkward hugging her. Mostly because my own mother never hugged me or showed me any other affection besides hate. 

"I am happy to be here," I said, hugging her back.

"Please forgive your father and me for having Alissa come and get you. We would have come, but your father had something that he had to take care of for another Pack, and I was busy helping some of the Pack children," Alice said 

"It's alright. I don't mind Alissa coming and getting us," I said

"Well, let's sit at the dining room table. Your father should be here soon,' She said, and we all went to the dining room and sat. I sat between Blake and Alissa, While Alice sat across from us.

"Alissa is so happy to meet her older sister finally. We talked about you a lot while she was growing up," Alice said 

"Yeah, I always wanted to meet you. We were all worried about you, especially dad. He seems so happy to have you here," Alissa said 

"Make sure that you get everything worked out, and I don't want to be bothered. I am having an important dinner with my family tonight. All of you know that I have finally found my oldest daughter," I heard Jacob say as he walked into the room. 

"Ebony, I didn't know you were already here. I am sorry about making you wait," Jacob said

"There is nothing to be sorry about. I am sure that you are busy," I said

The workers brought some food and placed it in the middle of the table. 

"Thank you. You can all leave now," Jacob said, and they all left. We began eating in silence. All of the food tasted amazing. There was fried chicken, steak, meatloaf, mac and cheese, greens, and cornbread. 

"So, how long are the two of you staying?" Alice asked

"Two weeks. We need to get back to school after the break," Keith said 

"What grade are you in?" Alice asked

"I am a sophomore, and Keith is a senior," I said 

"Have you known each other long," Alice asked.

"Yeah, since we were little," I replied

"That is so cool to know your Mate for so long. you two must have been the best of friends," Alissa said, and I looked at Keith, who looked nervous.

"Not exactly," I said

"What do you mean?" Jacob asked, looking me in the eye. 

"I wasn't the nicest to Ebony when we were younger. We actually didn't start getting along until we found out we were Mates," Keith said 

"So, how were you toward her?" Jacob asked

"It doesn't matter," I said

"I think it does," Jacob said

'I used to bully her," Keith confessed.

"What?" Jacob growled

"I know I was wrong and have been trying to make it up to her ever since. I love your daughter and promise I will always treat her right," Keith said, and Jacob looked at me.

"How do you feel about this?" Jacob asked

"I didn't like it when he used to bully me, but he has changed. It took some time, but now we are in a good place. I love him too," I said 

"Well, as long as you are treating her right now. I guess I can't hold that against you. But if you hurt my daughter, I will kill you," Jacob said. I had never had a parent care about me, and I didn't know how to react. Jacob was showing concern and care. 

"I promise that I will kill myself before hurting your daughter. She is my Mate, and I will protect her with my life, even from me," Keith said 

"There is something that I needed to discuss with the two of you. I know you just got here, but it is important," Jacob said 

"What is it?" I asked

"As my oldest child, you were born with certain abilities that only you could have," Jacob said, and Keith and I looked at each other.

"What do you mean?" I asked

"Because you are my firstborn, you are the only one that can take over and Rule," he said, causing me to choke on my steak. Keith patted my back softly, and I took a sip of my water. Jacob looked at me, waiting for me to respond.

"I don't think I am the right one to Rule," I said 

"That's nonsense. This is your birthright," Jacob said 

"What about Alissa? I am sure she would do a better job than me," I said 

'No, this is your birthright. You are the one that is supposed to Rule. You have the power that I have," Jacob said, causing me to look at him, confused.

"Power?" I asked

"You don't know, do you? Have you never used your powers?" Jacob asked 

"As far as I am aware, I don't have any powers,' I said

"This is ridiculous. How many times have you shifted," Jacob asked

"I don't shift a lot," I said, looking slightly nervous. I turned to look at Keith.

"Why," Jacob asked

"It's complicated," Keith said

"Why, because she is a white wolf?" Jacob asked, causing Keith and I to look at each other. I looked over at Alissa and Alice, who didn't seem surprised at the information. It was evident that they knew as well.

"How do you know that?" Keith asked

"Because she is just like me, and I am also a white wolf,"
