Derek's POV

When we arrived, my parents and Rose's mom were waiting for us outside the packhouse.

"We need to talk to Derek and Rose. So let's go to my office. Jason, you should come too," My father said.

Cindy told Jason she would wait for him in their room and left.

"We have a problem! Beta Jacob has called for a council meeting. He is trying to ban Rose, claiming she is a witch out of control. He will use her altercation with Sandy and Vivian as evidence." He said

The werewolf and witch community used to be enemies. Werewolves were forbidden to be with a witch, even if they were mates. My dad helped change that law. He believed that a werewolf deserved to be with their mate, whatever they were. The law changed right before I was born, and the council said it was up to each pack's Alpha if they would accept a witch in their community. If they don't, it would be cause for banishment if a werewolf decides to be with a witch. 

The Silver Moon Pack didn't change the law until Keith's dad, Edward, took over. Edward's dad has always had a thing against witches. He was upset when his son changed the law and allowed witches in the pack. Even though the law has changed, many werewolves still have a problem with witches. They believe they are too powerful and threaten the werewolf's existence.

"She had a reason to be upset. They can't banish her; she is my mate. A future Luna and her dad is a werewolf." I told him

"I know, son. This won't be enough to banish her. It could make some pack members go against her, though. If pack members are against their future Luna, that could weaken the pack." 

I knew Jacob was upset when I found my mate. He had always wanted me and Vivian to be mates. He tried to convince me to take her as a chosen mate when we weren't. If I marked her and found my real mate, there would be no way of undoing it.

There have been events when werewolves were tired of waiting for their mate or just lost hope, so they marked another, making them their chosen mate. Once they found their real mate, they lost interest in the chosen one, but they still would bare their mark even if they marked their fated mate.

It caused them to lose their fated mate because most didn't want another to have their mate's mark. Some even died from the pain. Jacob knew that and still tried to convince me. I never even thought that was an option. I might have been a player, but I always would have waited for my fated mate. Even if I had chosen a mate, I never would have marked them.

"He is trying to cause trouble, father. He is mad because I didn't choose to be with his daughter."

"I know, son! Larry called me, letting me know what was going on. He let me know what Jacob was trying to do. I explained to the council that Rose is your mate and that her powers had just surfaced. They understand the situation and gave us two months before coming here."

I was relieved and happy that Larry had heard everything. Larry is one of my father's best friends and a council member. He always tells us if something involving our pack is being discussed.

"What does this mean for my daughter? I know not all the werewolves like our kind. I will not let my daughter be put in danger."

"LIl she won't be. We need to ensure she receives training to prove she is not evil. That is what they are worried about." My mom explained

"We need you to help train her, Lil. You are a powerful witch who can teach her how to control her powers. We need to train her body physically, so she is ready just in case her wolf surfaces. She will be eighteen in three months, and I want her prepared if she does have her first shift." My father said

I agreed with my father. She did need to learn to control her powers. I also felt that she would shift. I had this feeling that she did have a wolf and that it was just waiting to make an appearance. She needed to be prepared for the first shift. It would be painful, and if she was not physically ready, it could cause her harm or be deadly.

"I believe that is a good idea. Flower, are you ok with all of this?"

"Yes, I believe it would be a good idea for me to learn to control my powers. But, mom, are you ok with it?"

"Yes, sweetie! It seems like a good idea. I should have prepared you earlier," Aunt Lil said

"So it's settled! Rose, you will start your werewolf training Monday morning. You have to be up before school starts at 4 AM. Lilly, you will help her control her powers." My dad said

After our meeting, we all went up to our rooms. I could tell Rose was nervous about everything she had just found out. So I decided to help her relax.

"Flower, would you like to have a bubble bath?" I asked her

" Yeah, that would be good." She said with a smile

I ran the bath for her and added her vanilla bubble bath that she loves. She came in and undressed, then got in the bathtub. I undressed and got in behind her. I rubbed her back, trying to help her relax.
