Keith's POV

I can't believe Rachel would say all those things about Ebony in front of all those different Pack Members. I knew she only said that stuff because of what I told her after told me what Rachel said to Ebony. I was upset and wanted to break Rachel's neck for disrespecting my Mate. I had to tell her that I was not going to put up with her disrespecting my Mate. So, I confronted Rachel and let her know that I was not happy with what she said to Ebony.

I ended up getting more upset when Rachel told me that Ebony was not my type. She even had the nerve to tell me she was my type and would make a better Luna than Ebony. I quickly told her I was in love with Ebony and that nothing would ever happen between her and me.

I was shocked when she literally had a breakdown in front of everyone that was around us. She told me that she had been in love with me since we were little and asked me what Ebony had that she didn't.

My response was that Ebony was the love of my life, and there was no way to explain to her what Ebony had that she didn't because to me everything about Ebony was better than her. I could tell that Rachel didn't like my answer because of the glare she threw my way.

"Fine. If you would rather have a weak she-wolf as your Mate that's on you," she said and I couldn't hold back my growl.

"You better watch the way to speak about my Mate, Rachel. We may have been friends when we were younger, but I will punish you if you disrespect her again. You will address her only as Luna Ebony from now on. Do you understand," I growled, causing her to flinch from fear

"Keith, I didn't mean to upset you," She said 

"That is Alpha Keith to you. Now answer my question. Do you understand?" I growled

"Yes, Keith."

"Yes, Who?" I asked

"Yes, Alpha Keith. I understand," She replied

 " Good. Now, I think it is better for you to head back to Bloodmoon. I will inform Alpha Michael that you are leaving," I said and walked away. 

I couldn't help the smile that came to my face knowing that I had set Rachel straight. There was no way I would let anyone mistreat my Mate again. I didn't understand how Rachel could think she could talk me into being with her. I had my Mate, and we were fully mated. Even if we weren't fully Mated yet, I would never want anyone but Ebony. She was my world and owned my heart.

When I spotted her talking with her father, and Tina, I walked over to where they were and wrapped my arms around her. Tina was an older, stuck-up she-wolf that always had something mean to say about Ebony when we were younger. I wanted to yell at Tina and tell her never to speak to my Mate again, but I knew it was not the time or place for that. 

I almost shifted into my wolf and attacked Rachel when she began acting worried about Ebony being Queen. I knew she was doing that to make other Pack Members worried that Ebony wouldn't be fit as Queen. 

My heart sank when Ebony walked away, and I could feel from the Bond that Rachel's words hurt her. When I looked at Rache,l I caught a smile on her face. She was happy with what she had done.

"I told you to leave," I growled.

"I am sorry, Alpha Keith, I was about to leave, but then I heard the Royal Council ask if anyone had any questions for Luna Ebony about her becoming Queen. I had to bring up my concerns about her becoming Queen," Rachel said, trying to sound innocent. I wanted to punch the bitch in her face. She was lucky I wasn't into beating on girls.

"I know what you are up to, Rachel. You might as well stop trying because your tricks aren't going to work," I said

"I don't know what you are talking about, Alpha Keith," She said, pissing me off more than I already was.

"Just leave," I said 

"I will take her home, Keith," Derek said, glaring at Rachel. I thanked Derek and went to look for Ebony. She was in our room, and I knew she was crying before I got to her because I could feel her pain through the bond.

"Just let it all out, My Love," I said and wrapped my arms around her. She held on to me tightly, as if I was her lifeline. I hated seeing her in so much pain. After a few minutes, she began to calm down but I kept holding her tightly.

"I am sorry for letting her get to me out there. I guess I showed her that I am weak," Ebony said 

"You are not weak, My Love," I said

"Yes, I am. I let Rachel get to me. I know that is what she wanted when she said all those things. I guess she won, and everyone thinks I am weak now," Ebony said 

"No, they don't. No one thinks you are weak," I said, and Ebony looked at me like she didn't believe me.

"I don't know. I sure feel weak. If we weren't Mates you would think I was weak," Ebony said 

"You were never weak, Ebony. You are very strong. Not that many would be able to be as caring and loving as you are if they went through the things you did for all those years. You had no one by your side and look at you now. You are the Luna of our Pack and about to become the Werewolf Queen. There is no way you are weak." I was happy when Ebony began to smile. 

"Thank you, Keith," Ebony said 

"Anytime. Now, we need to get back out there to show everyone how strong you are."
