Derek's POV

"Derek! I'm so sorry about Rose. You must be going through a lot," Vivian said as I entered the room. She approached me and tried to pull me into a hug.

It took everything I had not to throw her against the wall.

"Yeah, thanks," I said as I stepped away from her.

Vivian sat down next to her father again, while Jason, Mark, and I sat on the other side of them.

"They said you needed our help finding the Witch they kidnapped," Jacob said, making me angry.

"That Witch is my mate," I growled in my Alpha voice.

I could tell he was nervous by his expression.

"Right, your mate. I'm not sure how I can help you find her because they moved her before we escaped," he said nervously.

"Well, I was hoping you two could show us where you were taken. Maybe we can find evidence there," I explained.

"Alright, but I don't think anything will be there. They seemed to be using magic to stay hidden," He said

"Alright, let's go,"  I said and stood to leave.

"Do you think we should allow him to join us?" Jacob asked as he looked at Mark.

"He's Chloe's son,"

"I am Rose's brother, and I want to find her and bring her home safely," Mark growled.

"My father is right, Derek. Do you trust him? What if he, like his mother, is an evil witch?" Vivian replied

I could tell Mark was upset and about to jump at them.

I didn't want them to know we suspected them of lying. Jason must have thought the same thing because he placed his arm on his shoulder to prevent him from approaching Jacob and Vivian.

"Come on, bro. Let's wait in the car," He said before leaving the room with Mark.

"He seems to get angry easily," Vivian said.

"You just called him evil. Let's go so you can show me where Chloe took you, "I said, and they got up and followed me to the car.

"I feel so bad for you, Derek," Vivian said as she placed her hand on mine.

I moved away from her, causing her smile to fade into a frown.

"What exactly is he doing here?" Jacob yelled angrily.

When I looked up, I saw Landon approaching us.

"He's coming with us,"

"Why does he have to come? He asked.

"Because he is my Gamma. You know that my father will appoint me to the Alpha position in a few weeks." I said in annoyance.

"Hello, Vivian," Landon said, giving her an odd look.

"Hello," was all she said.

"Beta Jacob," Landon sneered. Jacob rolled his eyes in irritation.

I was shocked when I looked over at Landon. He was staring at Vivian in a way I'd never seen him look at a woman. He was acting as if she were the most beautiful woman in the world. He was staring at her the same way I do, Rose.

Vivian looked at him but turned away when her father gave her an evil look.

"This can't be true," I thought, but there was no other explanation. So Vivian and Landon had to be mates.

I started thinking about when Vivian suddenly left. The day she left was the day after Landon returned home. Landon would inquire if I heard from her. I had told him no, and Jacob had said she had gone to Silvermoon Pack. Landon's behavior changed after that. He didn't hang out with us anymore and would spend weeks in his room.

He began to flirt with other women. I assumed he was fucking around because he didn't have a mate.

Now I know that's not the case.

I suddenly had an idea.

"Why don't you ride with us, Landon?" I asked

"Sure," he replied.

We walked over to my car. Mark and Jason were already waiting in Jason's car for us to arrive.

"We'll follow you," Jason said from behind the wheel, and I nodded my approval.

"Why don't you sit up front with me, Jacob?" I suggested as he tried to get into the back with Vivian.

"I'm fine here with my daughter," he said.

"I need you to show me the way. You sit in the back with Vivian, Landon, "I stated, and he nodded.

Jacob sat in the passenger seat. I looked back at Vivian and Landon as we drove through the woods. They would occasionally glance over at each other.

We had to get out of the car and walk the rest of the way to the abandoned house. When we got out of the car, Jacob immediately stood by Vivian and made sure she wasn't anywhere near Landon the entire walk.

"This is the house they kept us in," Jacob said.

"Well, there's no evidence of you or Rose being here, so let's go," I replied.

Mark and Jason looked at me, confused. They probably expected me to call them out on their lies right then and there. But, instead, I felt something wasn't right now that I knew Vivan and Landon were mates. So I had to figure out what that was.

Landon, Jacob, and Vivian walked in front of us.

"What's up, man?" Jason asked.

"I'll tell you when we return. But something isn't right, "I said, and we followed Landon, Vivian, and Jacob.

"Jace, please meet me in my father's office when I return," I mind-linked Jace.

"Sure, man, is everything okay? Did my father tell you anything?" He replied

"No, but I do have something important to tell you. Meet me in an hour,"

"Okay," he said, and we cut the link.

Something wasn't right, and I was going to figure out what it was.
