Ebony's POV

When Alissa and I arrived back at the Palace, Keith and Jacob were waiting for us at the front door. When Keith saw me, he instantly ran to the Limo and opened the back door.

He helped me out of the Limo and wrapped his arms around me.

"I am so happy you are okay and back here safe with me," Keith said, causing me to worry.

"What is wrong? The guard said that something happened," I asked.

"Let's go inside and discuss that," Jacob said, and we walked into the Palace. We went into an office that I was sure was Jacob's. Alice was already in the office seated, and Jacob made his way over to sit next to her at his desk.

Keith, Alissa, and I sat across from them. Keith sat on one side of me while Alissa sat on the other. 

"What happened?" I asked

"Someone told everyone in the Royal Pack about you being found. I only told a few of the Pack Members that I trust, but somehow everyone found out," Jacob said 

"What's wrong with people knowing she is alive and well?" Alissa asked

"It could make Ebony a target. You know that I have a lot of enemies out there that would like to see me perish. They know that Ebony is the rightful heir to the throne, and some will want to get rid of her in hopes of bringing our family down," Jacob said 

"It won't be long until others learn about her from other Packs. I think it is best if Ebony and I return home," Keith said 

"I have to agree with Keith. She will be safer there," Alice said 

"No, she won't be safer there. What if someone finds out that she lives there? No, Ebony is safer here in the Palace with all the guards. It is harder to get in here than anywhere else. Plus, Ebony needs to learn how to use her powers. I am the only one that can teach her how to tap into her abilities. You know that she needs to learn to defend herself," Jacob said 

Keith looked at him for a moment, and then he looked at me.

"What do you think, Love?" Keith asked

"He is the only one that can help me access my abilities," I said. I still wasn't all that convinced that I had any abilities. I was a white wolf, but why had I never been able to access any abilities before? At the same, I wanted to see if Jacob was right about my having abilities. It would be nice to have some time of power.

"Fine, we will stay, but if anyone tries to hurt her, we are gone," Keith said 

"We will make sure that she is safe. Trust me; I want her safe just as much as you do. She is my daughter," Jacob said, and I could tell he meant everything he said. It made me feel warm inside, knowing that even though he didn't know me growing up, he still saw me as his daughter.

"I also think we need to bring your mother here and question her. I think we should also punish her for taking you from me and treating you wrong all through your childhood," Jacob said 

"I don't want her to be punished, and I think we should just let her be," I said 

"But she might have been the one that told everyone, and I deserve to punish her for taking my daughter from me," Jacob said 

"I don't think that she said anything to anyone. She has been hiding from you all these years, and I know she wouldn't want to cause any more trouble for herself, and I don't want her to be punished. Punishing her won't change what happened," I said

"I agree with Jacob. Your mom caused a lot of problems, and she deserves to be held responsible," Alice said 

"Please, don't do anything to her. She is still my mother," I said, and Keith held onto my hand. She might not have been a good mtJacob looked at me for a moment, and I could tell he was deep in thought. 

"Fine, I won't do anything to your mother, but I still believe that she should be questioned to see if she is responsible for your arrival being exposed to everyone," Jacob said, and I nodded.

"So you are just going to let her get away with taking your daughter from you? Not only that but lying and saying that you are her Mate," Alice said, and everyone looked at her.

"Alice, you know I don't like what she did, but if I punish her, then I will be hurting Ebony as well," Jacob said 

" She deserves to be put in a cell for what she did," Alice said 

"We will talk about this later," Jacob said 

"Fine," Alice said and stood from her seat and walked away. Jacob got up and followed after her.
