Ebony's POV 

  We are sitting by the pool on a bench in the backyard. I am so happy that he wasn't trying to fuck with Sandy. I know her; if he were, she would have rubbed it in my face. I could tell she was irritated that he wasn't giving her the attention she wanted.

  "Ebony, I am so sorry for how I treated you all these years. I will spend the rest of my life making it up to you. You didn't deserve any of it." Keith said and took my hand in his. I felt the sparks go all through my body.

  "Thanks for apologizing, but I can't just let the past go too quickly. I will give you one chance to show me that you are changing for the better. I know we are mates, but I need to know that you will never disrespect me again. You did some pretty fucked up shit to me, and it still hurts." I told him truthfully

  "Ebony baby, I promise I will never hurt you again. From this day forward, I will treat you like a princess. I am so ashamed of myself," He said.

  "I hope you mean that, Keith," I said 

  "I do, and I plan to prove it to you. We will go at your pace. I don't want you doing anything you don't feel comfortable doing." He said, and I agreed. 

  "Can I ask you a question?" He asked, and I nodded

  "Why did you decide to go back to Silvermoon with me?" He asked

  "I know it is hard for Alpha's to be away from their mate. I didn't want to cause you any pain. It made the most sense for me to go with you." She said, and I just looked at her, stunned.

  She didn't want to cause me any pain. After everything I have done for her. It made me fall for her more, and I just found out today we were mates.

  "You are amazing," I told her and went in to hug her. The sparks were all over me, and she felt so good in my arms. I don't know how I lived without her in my arms all this time.

  I kissed her forehead and thanked her for talking to me.

  I walked her back to the room she was staying in with her friends and then returned to mine.

  When I walked in, Mark was there waiting for me.

  "So Ebony's your mate, huh?" He said 

  "Yes, she is," I told him. 

  "And you accepted her," He said, and that name me angry.

  "Of course, I accepted her. She is mine, and I am hers. I will not allow you to disrespect her best friend or not." I told him in my Alpha voice. 

  I never used it on him, but he had crossed a line.

  "Chill! I was stating the facts. I can tell your attitude towards her has changed. I always felt that deep down you liked her and bullied her to his lie your feelings." He said

  "What do you mean?" I asked

  "I wasn't sure, but there were many times when I caught you staring at her smiling. I'm not the only one that noticed. Sandy noticed too. I think that's why she bullied her as well." Mark said

  I thought about it, and he was right. I always found Ebony attractive. She had a beauty that nobody else ever had. 

  I was worried that nobody would accept me with her. She's from the poorest part of town, and I didn't want anyone to notice my attraction to her. I am the biggest idiot.

  " She chose to come back to Silvermoon with me tomorrow. I need to take hold a meeting with everyone from tomorrow when we arrive. I want everyone to know she is my mate, and there will be consequences if she is disrespected." I told him.

  " So she decided to stay at Bluemoon High?" Mark asked.

  "Shit! I forgot she transferred. I will talk to her tomorrow about her coming back," I told him.

  Mark went to a room to stay in tonight, and I lay on the bed. It had been a long day. I was thinking about Ebony and wished she was lying beside me. 

  I decided to call her. I needed to hear her voice.

  "Hello!" I heard her sweet voice say. She sounded so innocent.

  "Hey! I just wanted to tell you we will be leaving at 8 in the morning. I have a meeting to introduce you as my mate in the morning if that's alright with you." I asked, worried she would say know

  She paused for a minute before replying.

  "That would be fine. They should know why I'm there, plus I should get to know everyone." She said, and I sighed in relief. 

  "Thanks, baby. It would be best if you got some sleep," I told her.

  "Yeah, I'm about to go to sleep now. It's been a long day. and Keith, happy birthday."She said, and I smiled.

  "Thanks love," I told her and hung up the phone.

  I almost forgot it was my eighteenth birthday. It might not have gone through the way I thought it would, but there was one thing I was sure of

  This was the best birthday I had ever had in my life. I closed my eyes and dreamed about the most beautiful girl in the world. Ebony, my mate!
