Rose Bailey: My Mate, My Flower Chapter 69

Rose's POV

"You look so beautiful in that dress Rose," Kate said 

Kate, my mom, Aunt Lisa, Grandma Joyce, and I are at the dress shop right now trying on dresses for the ceremonies next weekend

"I think she should go with white," Grandma Joyce said

"I think she looks pretty in purple." My mom said

"It is like a wedding, so she should wear white," Grandma Joyce said

"This is a Mating Ceremony. It is different than a wedding," My mom said

"I don't see how. They are going to vow to be with each other. It is a wedding if you ask me," Grandma Joyce argued

"It is different, though. A wedding isn't forever like a mating ceremony is," Aunt Lil said

"Whatever, all I am saying is that she should wear white," Grandma Joyce said

My mom looked at her like she wanted to say something, but Aunt Lil beat her.

"So Rose, are you nervous," Aunt Lil asked me

"A little," I said

"You have nothing to be nervous about. Derek is so happy and lucky to have you. We all are," Aunt Lisa said with a genuine smile.

"We must pay for these and get you back to the Pack House. Your Doctor's appointment is in two hours," My mom said

We went to the front and paid for the two dresses I chose. I got a white dress for the mating ceremony because I could tell Grandma Joyce wanted me to wear white. I knew it wasn't a wedding, but I did agree with her that it was almost one. I also grew up wanting to wear white to my wedding. This was like a wedding so I might as well wear white like I always wanted. I could see the smile that came on Grandma Joyce's face. My mom and Aunt Lisa just rolled their eyes.

"Let us go before we are late," My mom said 

Once we arrived at the Pack House, I went to my room to get ready for the Doctor's appointment. I knew that Derek would be coming soon. He had Pack Business that he and his father had to take care of since he would take over the Pack after our mating and the Alpha and Luna Ceremonies.

I went to the bathroom, took a shower, and changed into some comfortable clothes to wear to the Pack Doctor. My mom, Lisa, and Kate came with us to the Doctor's. Derek was in the closet when I left the bathroom, picking out some clothes. When he saw me, he smiled.

"Hey, Flower, let me go take a quick shower, and then I will be ready to go," He said and came over, pecked me on the lips, and then went into the bathroom.

"I can't believe you are going to be a grandma," Kate said to her mom

"I am happy with being a grandma. I have waited for this day since your brother was a baby," Aunt Lisa said

"Well, I am not going to be called grandma," My mom said

"Why not?" Aunt Lisa asked

"Because I am not old enough to be someone, grandma," my mom said, and Aunt Lisa rolled her eyes.

"Whatever, the baby can call me grandma," Aunt Lisa said

"Hello, everyone," Sally said as she entered the room.

"Hi, Sally," Aunt Lisa said

"I am going to start with checking the baby's heartbeat. I can tell all of you are excited," Sally said as she came up to me with a machine to check the baby's heartbeat. She put some warm get on my stomach, and then we heard the heartbeat.

"That is a healthy heartbeat. I am going to get some things that I need to take some of your blood, and I would also like to take an ultrasound to see exactly how far along you are," She said and left the room.

When she came back, she took three tubes of blood.

"Alright, now the fun part. Let's look at your baby. I need you to lie back in the seat for me," Sally said, and I did what she said. She put some more warm gel on my belly, picked up the ultrasound tool, and placed it on my stomach.

We all looked at the screen while she moved the machine around, taking pictures of my stomach. 

"Is everything alright," Derek asked.

"Yeah, but there is something I need to tell you. You do not have only one baby. You are having two," She said, and everyone gasped.

"Two babies," My mom asked.

"Yeah, it is very common for an Alpha's mate to become pregnant with twins," Sally said

Derek hugged me, and I could tell he was excited.

"We are having twins," He said, and I couldn't help but smile back at him.

But deep down inside, I was nervous. 

"You have made me the happiest man alive," He said and kissed the top of my head.
