Ebony's POV

"Why didn't you tell me about you and King Jacob talking about us becoming King and Queen?" Keith asked after Jacob, and the Royal Council left. 

"I don't know. I guess I didn't want to talk about it. I don't know if I want to become the Queen of all the werewolves. I don't even know if I would be a good Queen," I said 

"Ebony, you would make a great Queen. You didn't think you would make a great Luna but look at how good you are doing. You are a natural, and  I will always be by your side," Keith said 

"YOu know Jacob told me that if I decided to become Queen of the Royal Pack, they would listen to my word over yours," I said, wondering what he would think about that.

"I know that already, Ebony. You are of Royal blood, with makes you their true leader and Queen," Keith said,

"You knew and never told me about it?" I asked

"I didn't think really think about it," Keith said 

"And you don't care that my word would be before yours?' I asked

"Why would I care about that? We will rule together just like we are doing here," He said. I thought I would feel anger from our bond, but I didn't. Everything he was saying was true. He didn't care that the Royal Pack would listen to me before him. He saw me as his equal, and that made me happy. 

"I am happy you feel that way, Keith, but I still need to consider if this is what I want. Would it make you mad if I chose not to become Queen?" I asked

"No. But I want you to make that decision because you truly don't want to become Queen. Not because you are worried, you won't be a good Queen, because you will. You were made to rule, My Love," Keith said, wrapped his arms around me, and pulled my body to his.  

"You seemed to have a lot of questions for the Royal Council," Keith said 

"I don't understand why they feel it is important for me to keep my wolf a secret from everyone. I shouldn't have to hide from everyone,"  I said 

"Alpha Michael also didn't want you to tell anyone. I think they are just worried about you like they said they were. You are their future Queen, and they want to keep you safe," Keith said

"They said they would kill someone if I told them about my wolf. What if they find out I told Uncle Michael and his family?" I asked worriedly. I didn't want anything to happen to them because of me. 

"They will never find out that they know about you," Keith replied

"They are gone, but they will be back in a week. They said they want to come back to see if you have come up with a decision on taking your place as Queen," Jacob said as he walked back inside.

"Why do they have to come back so quickly? She told them she would let them know when she makes up her mind," Keith said 

"This is of great importance. With everything going on with Alice, we need to know if you plan on taking your place as Queen," Jacob said 

"Can you ask them to give me more time?" I asked

"I am afraid they have already made up their mind," Jacob said 

"I don't get why you have to listen to them. You are the King, not them. Why does their word beat yours?' " I asked

"That is how it has been since before I was born, Ebony. The Royal Council was created to keep peace and to protect the one in charge. They are being more protective of you because this is the first time a woman has been the Heir. You will be the first Queen and the first female White Wolf," Jacob said. Shocking me

"You mean there has never been a female white wolf?" I asked

"No, As I told you before, the only white wolves have been from our family. It is always the firstborn child of the King. You are my firstborn, and that is how I knew you were a white wolf. The ruler's firstborn is the only one with special abilities. That is one of the reasons you are the only one that can rule. You are the only one with the power to rule," Jacob said

"Why do you want Ebony to take her place as Queen earlier than she should?" Keith asked

"You know that Alice has caused many problems with everything she has done. I feel it is partly my fault for not seeing what she was doing all those years. Members of the Royal Pack tried to warn me about her, but I didn't listen. I don't feel I have been a good king to my people. At least not as good as I should have been. I believe it is time I stepped aside and let you take your place. I am not the only one that believes it either. When I brought this up with the council, they agreed with me. They also feel that you should take your rightful place as Queen," Jacob said 

"I don't even know what I am supposed to do as Queen," I said 

"I will ensure you know what you are supposed to do to rule. You are already the Luna of this Pack, so I am sure it won't take long for you to get the hang of it. I know that you will make a great Queen, Ebony," Jacob said. I wondered why Keith believed I would make a great Queen. I wasn't sure I would. 

"As I said earlier to the Council, I will think about all of this, but I am not promising you anything. I don't know if this is what I want,"
