Werewolf
Rose Bailey: My Mate, My Flower Chapter 115
Rose's POV
Good evening Luna, Alpha," one of the Pack Members said as Derek and I walked into the Packhouse.
"Good evening, Janet," Derek said as we walked to his office with his arm over my shoulders.
It had been four days since the Ceremonies, and I was still not used to being called Luna. I told Derek that I would rather the Pack Members call me by my real name, but he said that would be unacceptable and lead some members to undermine my authority. It made sense, so I would have to get used to being called Luna.
Aunt Lisa was already at his office door before we made it there. She had been teaching me everything I was supposed to do as Luna, and I was thankful for that. I thought I was just supposed to stand by Derek's side as Luna, but I was wrong.
While Derek keeps the Pack safe and secure, I am the mother of the Pack. I make sure that everything runs smoothly. I manage the money and make sure that the Packhouse is clean and has enough food for everyone. I learned that besides the Beta, Gamma family, Pack warriors, and of course, the Alpha family, most of those who live in the Packhouse are children that have lost their parents and have nobody to take them in.
I am supposed to ensure they stay safe and have enough of everything regarding food and clothing. I am supposed to show them love and support, which I have no problem doing. I have always loved children and get along with them well. There is also an orphanage on our Pack that most of the children that lose their families stay at, but when I visited it, something didn't sit well with me. I plan on revisiting the orphanage without notice.
I am also supposed to ensure that the families outside the Packhouse are good. I make sure that they have everything they need. I have people who help me with this because it is a lot. Jace's mate Lacy is the Beta female of the Pack, and she will be one of them that helps me with everything. We get along great, and I am happy that she is the Beta female.
"Rose, something came up. We need to go now," Aunt Lisa said
"Okay," I said and kissed Derek before we left.
We walked out of the Packhouse, one of the Pack Warriors that Derek assigned for my safety opened the back door for me, and I hopped into the back seat, and Aunt Lisa did the same.
"Where are we going?" I asked Aunt Lisa as the driver began driving the car
"One of my friends from Blue Moon Pack called me about her daughter. She is worried about her. She thinks that her daughter's mate is abusing her physically. Her daughter moved here with her mate a week ago, and when she visited her mom on the weekend, she had unhealed bruises. Her mate got upset when her mom questioned them, and they left. I told her we would check it out," Aunt Lisa said
"How did she still have bruises on her? Werewolves heal quickly," I asked
"Her daughter might never shift. She is eighteen and hasn't shifted yet, so she doesn't heal quickly," Aunt Lisa said, and I nodded.
One thing I have learned is that even though when a werewolf finds their mate, they won't want any other female physically, that doesn't mean they will treat their mate well in every other way. There is still emotional, physical, and sexual abuse that happens. Some talk back about their mate and even hit them. If a werewolf was abusive and had a history of hitting anyone of the opposite sex before mated, there is a chance that they will do the same to their mate, though most of the time, they change entirely for their mate. The same goes for sexual abuse; if someone is mated to someone who has raped someone, they may do it to their mate.
I don't know why the Moon Goddess would give those types of werewolves mates because they don't deserve one, but Aunt Lisa is always telling me not to question the Moon Goddess and that she always does things for a reason.
The car stopped at a house, and we got out of the vehicle. Aunt Lisa and I walked up the house with the warriors behind us. Aunt Lisa knocked on the door, and a female answered. She looked about my age with long sandy blond hair and green eyes. She was shorter than my 5ft 3 self and skinny. What shocked me were the bruises on her face and black eyes. The bruises didn't seem to be from the weekend, even with her not having a werewolf healing ability.
"Hello Deserae, can we come in," Aunt Lisa said
"Of course, Luna's come inside," She said, and we walked in. We sat on the couch in the living room.
"Deserae, we have come here because your mother called us. She is worried about you," Aunt Lisa said
"There is nothing for her to be worried about. I am sorry that she wasted your time," Deserae replied
"Will you tell us where you got those bruises from?" Aunt Lisa asked, and Derserae was silent. I could hear her heart beating faster than it should. She was scared about something.
"Deserae, we want to help you. I know that your mate is hitting you, and that is wrong. You don't have to live like that," I said
"If I leave, he will kill me. I don't want to be here, but he told me that I am his and I can't go anywhere," She said
"Do you feel anything for him? I mean, do you feel the bond?" Aunt Lisa asked
"I feel sparks when he touches me and that I am supposed to be with him," She replied
"You know you can reject him," I said, and Aunt Lisa looked at me
"You can, but it might hurt," Aunt Lisa replied
"She doesn't have a wolf, so it might not hurt her as bad as him," I said and could see the hurt in Deserae's eyes from me bringing up the fact that she doesn't have a wolf.
"I am sorry, Deserae; I didn't mean to offend you," I said
"It's okay, Luna. I know you didn't mean anything by it," She replied
"You can come with us," Aunt Lisa said
"I can't; he will kill me," She said
We tried to get Deserae to come with us but couldn't make her. So we went back to the Packhouse but not before I gave her my phone number and told her to call me if she needed anything.
I walked into Derek's office, and Jason was in there. They were talking about something that seemed important, but when I walked in, they stopped talking.
"Hey, Flower," Derek said and held his hand out for me. I walked over to him and sat on his lap. He kissed me passionately until Jason broke our moment.
"Hey, I don't want to see that," Jason said
"What were the two of you talking about?" I asked, and Jason tensed up
"Nothing important; Jason has decided to accept my offer to become my Gamma now that Landon is no longer a part of the Pack," Derek said
"That is good," I said
Derek decided to let Landon go after he broke into the Pack to save him. So now Landon is staying in Red Moon Pack. He has some extended family members from there.
My phone began to ring, and I took it out of my pocket to see Deserae calling.
Hello," I said
"Luna, please help me," She said, and then I heard her scream and then silence.
"Deserae, can you hear me," I said worriedly
"What's wrong?" Derek asked concerned
"It's one of the Pack members I saw today. She is in trouble, and we need to get to her now," I said, running out of the room with Derek and Jason following.
