Ebony's POV

"Thanks for coming with me to breakfast," Alissa said. 

"Thanks for inviting me," I said and looked at all the Royal Guards around us. We took a limo to the restaurant, and there were three black SUVs in front and behind our limo. Alissa and I ended up going to breakfast at a Pancake restaurant in the Royal Pack. 

"You will get used to it," Alissa said, taking a sip of her tea.

"Get used to what?" I asked

"All the guards following you around. I have been going through this my whole life," Alissa said 

"It seems like a lot. Do  they always have these many guards following you?" I asked

"Half of these guards are assigned to follow you now. I normally have about ten guards, so dad assigned ten for you, too," Alissa said

"Why," 

"Because our dad is very protective. Not to mention he has been looking for you since you were born. I still can't believe your mother would take you like that. Did she tell you that he didn't want you because you were born a girl?" Alissa asked

"Yeah, she has blamed me my whole life for him leaving her," I said

"Your mother sounds horrible. It must have been hard growing up with her," Alissa said

"She always had something bad to say about me, and I guess I got used to it. But I don't want you worrying about me. I am happy now with Keith," I said

"I still can't believe he used to bully you," She said

"Yeah, it was crazy when I found out that we were Mates. I didn't think we would end up together, but now I can't live without him. He has changed a lot," I said 

"You had so much going on in your life. I couldn't imagine going through what you did. I am happy we found you," Alissa said 

"I am happy too. Your mom and dad seem like the perfect parents," I said

"Our dad is the best father in the world. He has always been there for me. It was hard growing up, though, because he was very protective. He never let me go to parties or sleepovers at my friend's house because he was always worried that someone would kidnap me or something," Alissa said 

"That must have been hard," I said 

"It was, but I knew he only did it because he loves me and doesn't want anything to happen to me. He is the best father there is," Alissa said 

'Your mom must be great too," I said, and she became quiet and stared into space. It was like she was thinking of something. Then she looked at me with an expression I couldn't read.

"Mom is mom. I learned that it is best to stay out of her way," she said 

"What do you mean," I asked, confused

"It means that she likes things to run a certain way. So it is best to keep your distance from her. She isn't as nice as she seems when she is away from dad," Alissa said, and I just looked at her, not knowing what to think.

"Hello, have the two of you decided what you want to eat?" The waitress asked, taking us from our conversation, and we ordered our food. 

"So, have you thought about what dad talked with you about last night?" Alissa asked after taking a sip of her orange juice

"What part are you talking about?" I asked

"You becoming Queen," 

"I don't know what to think about that. I didn't even know that King Jacob was my father. It's a lot to take in learning that I am supposed to be the future Queen of all Werewolves," I said 

"I can't imagine how overwhelming it must be for you to learn that you are the future Queen but trust me, it is your destiny. I think that once you get over the shock of it all, you will learn everything you need to and will make a great Queen. It isn't like it is going to happen tomorrow or anything. You have a lot of time to learn what you need to," Alissa said 

"You are starting to make me think that you are the older sister," I said 

"I have been told that I am wise beyond my years," she said, and we began to laugh. After that, we ate our food and made small talk of not as important topics. We talked about schools and friends and what are hobbies were. After eating, we paid the bill, left, and were about to be on our way to the mall, but a security guard came up to us before we could get into the limo.

"I am sorry, Princesses, but we must take the both of you back to the castle," the guard said 

"Why," Alissa asked

'Something has happened. Your father will tell you everything when we get back,"
