Ebony's POV

"Ebony, I am sorry. Please open the door, Love," Keith said from the other side of the bedroom door.

I couldn't believe he would talk to me like that. It made me remember how he treated me before finding out we were Mates. But, I guess I was a fool thinking that he would change how he was with me.

"I don't want to talk to you right now, Keith. Please leave me alone," I said

There was silence by the door, and then I heard him take a huge breath. 

"Okay, I will go to the other bedroom. It is getting late, and we have school tomorrow. I am sorry, and I will talk to you tomorrow," He said, and I felt a little upset that he gave up so quickly.

I heard the door to the other room open and shut. I went to bed and lay there. I wasn't sleepy and kept thinking about how he had talked to me. I felt that maybe it was a wrong idea to give him a chance. If this was how he would react every time we had a disagreement, I knew it wouldn't work out. 

At the same time, I didn't want to give up. Another part of me felt like I should give him the chance to prove himself to me. I was confused and started to get a headache. I closed my eyes, trying to sleep, but I couldn't. I just stayed in bed thinking about Keith.

Keith's POV

"I will wait for you here after class," I said to Ebony. 

We were in the last period of the day, and Ebony had hardly talked to me the whole day. I knew I shouldn't have yelled at her like that last night and have been beating myself up all day. I couldn't sleep last night, knowing I had hurt her again. 

"I have choir practice after school," She said

"What time is it over," I asked

"It lasts an hour. I will get a ride with Derek. I was thinking about visiting them anyway," She said

"But we have the meeting to introduce you to the entire Pack today," I said

"Can we do it some other time?" She asked

"No, Ebony, we cant. I know you are still upset about yesterday, but I told you I am sorry. You said that you were over it," I said

"I am," she replied

"I don't think you are. Come on, let's go talk somewhere," I said

"I have class, Keith," She said

"Let's talk after choir practice. You said it lasts about an hour, so you should get out at 3:30, right?" I asked 

"Yeah," She replied

"Okay, my mom wants to have the meeting at five, so we will have about forty-five minutes to talk, and then we can leave for the meeting," I said

Ebony looked like she thought about what she should do. 

"Please, Ebony. I am sorry for how I talked to you last night. Let's talk about it," I said

"Fine, we can talk after choir practice," She said, causing me to smile.

"Thank You, I will see you after class. I will go with you to choir practice," I said

"But it is an hour wait," 

"I know, and I want to hear your beautiful voice,"

I walked to my class and sat in my usual spot next to Mark.

"How's everything going? You seem to be in a better mood than earlier," Mark said

"Yeah, Ebony agreed to talk to me later today," I replied

"That is good. I've never seen you in such a sad mood. I thought you were going to cry," Mark said, and I rolled my eyes.

"Whatever, man. When you find your mate, you will see that it is not a good feeling when your mate is mad at you," I said

"I guess. So there is a Pack Meeting today?" Mark asked

"Yeah, to introduce Ebony to the pack as my mate," I said

"You are so pathetic," Sandy said, and I turned to look at her. She was sitting with Cindy and Ashlee. 

"What are you talking about, Sandy? You know what, don't answer that. I don't care what you think about me," I said

"You would let that useless she-wolf become your Luna and beg for her forgiveness. I heard you. Please, Ebony, talk to me," She said 

"You better watch your mouth Sandy," I growled.

"You are not my Alpha, Keith. I don't have to listen to you,"

"Maybe not, but if you keep disrespecting my mate, there will be consequences. She is a future Luna, and disrespecting her can lead to you being punished. Don't forget the law Sandy," I said, and her face paled in realization. I couldn't help the smirk that appeared on my face.

"Whatever, I am done with you," She said and looked at the teacher who had started teaching.

"Well, that shut her up," Mark said 

"Mr. Bailey is there something you would like to share with the class," The teacher asked Mark.

"No, Mam," He said, and she returned to teaching.

After class I was over, I began walking to Ebony's class, but she was already headed my way.

"You ready," I asked her, and she nodded.

I walked her to her locker to put her things away, and we went to her Choir practice, which was being held in the gym. Most of the she-wolves were checking me out, but I ignored them and sat in the stands. 

They were having tryouts for a solo, and Ebony was trying out. I looked at my phone while everyone that wanted to try out for the solo had their turn. 

Soon it was Ebony's turn, and I looked at her. She began singing Aaliyah's One in a Million, and I couldn't take my eyes off her. Her voice sounded like heaven. I could listen to her all day and never get bored. It was then that I realized I was in Love with Ebony Daniels.
