Rose Bailey: My Mate, My Flower Chapter 45

Derek's POV(Before the Attack)

"Hey dad," I said happily as I walked into my dad's office

"Hi, son! You seem happy"

"I am very happy. I talked to Rose about completing the mating process and becoming Luna. She said that she wanted to."

"I am so happy for you son. I have been waiting for you to find your mate. I remember when I met your mother. She was the most beautiful woman then and she still is now" He said

I just smiled at him. I loved the way he was with my mother. He was the perfect husband, father, and Alpha. I was worried I wouldn't be able to live up to his expectations and let the pack down.

"I just hope I can be as good as you are someday dad," I said

"You will be a great Alpha and mate son. Don't doubt yourself," My dad said 

I knew he meant it. We talked about what I should expect at the Alpha Ceremony. He had told me about it before, so I already knew what would happen. I told him that Rose is worried about the mating in front of the pack and that I was worried she would change her mind. He told me that was normal, even my mom was nervous about that part. I instantly changed the subject when he brought my mom up. I didn't want to hear about my mom and dad mating.

"I should go check and see if they are done discussing the ceremonies," I said to my father and stood up.

"They are probably still talking about it. You have no idea how long your mother has been waiting to plan for your Mating and Alpha Ceremonies. I  can only imagine how she will be once Kate finds her mate," He said and then laughed

I couldn't help but laugh too. I knew Kate was going to get it worse than me. 

As soon as I opened my father's door, Jace had mind-linked me.

"Derek, Rogues are attacking. They just crossed the border and are heading to the Packhouse," He said

I ran to Rose and my room while mind-linking my dad telling him what Jace had just told me.  When I arrived at our room, Rose wasn't there. 

"Jace I need you to find Rose," I said through mind-linked 

"I found her and Kate by the pool. They are in the Saferoom" he said and I felt relieved.

I ran outside and shifted into my wolf. My dad was out there fighting some rogues. He was winning the fight. My dad might be older but he is still in good shape and a very good fighter. A wolf attacked me and I dodged him quickly and bit down on his neck. 

It had been about ten minutes and rogues kept coming. I didn't understand why they were attacking. We hardly ever had any rogue problems.

All of a sudden, the rogues that were still alive, started to run back to the woods. They were going to leave. I was happy until I saw a lady with golden hair and caramel skin, walking toward us. She was saying some words in a different language that I didn't understand. I knew she was a witch. 

I saw two strong-looking men, walking behind her. I was becoming really tired and the next thing I knew, I had passed out.

"Derek, wake up" I heard Jace say

I looked over and saw all of the pack fighters getting up from the ground. We all must have passed out. 

"What happened," I asked 

"I don't know! All I know is that we all were unconscious" Jace said

My mom and Kate were walking toward us from the Packhouse. My mom went over to my father that was just waking up. She helped him up and they came over to me.

"Rose is gone! A witch and two rogues kidnapped her" My mom said

"What do you mean? We have to find her" I said and jumped up off the ground. I went into the packhouse and put on some clothes. 

When I came back downstairs, my mom and Aunt Lil, Kate, Jason, and James were down there. Aunt Lil was casting some spells, while my mom was talking to James.

"What is she doing mom?" I asked

"She is casting a location spell. She is trying to find Rose."

"What are you talking about?" James asked confused

Just then, Max and Mark walked through the door.

"Have you found her yet?" Mark asked worriedly

"NO, my mom is trying to find her with a location spell," Jason said

Max went over and stood by Aunt Lil, who was focusing on the spell. Her eyes had turned yellow.

"I am going to ask this one more time. What the hell is going on and why are my mom's eyes yellow?" James asked now panicking 

"James there is something you need to know," Jason said

James looked at him waiting for him to continue

"Mom is not human. She is a witch and so is Rose," Jason said

"I am a werewolf, just like our father and most of the people that live here in the packhouse" Jason finished

James looked at him with an expression I didn't understand. Then he started laughing hysterically. We all looked at him, besides Aunt Lil who was still focusing on her spell.

"You are so funny. Jokes on me. Rose, you can come out now," James said and we all looked at him like he was crazy. Jason looked at me and I looked back at him. I knew what he was going to do and I nodded

Just then, Jason changed into his black wolf. James instantly stopped laughing. He looked at me, then at Max, then back at the big wolf in front of him. The next thing I knew James was on the floor. He had passed out from shock

Maybe Jason shouldn't had shifted into his wolf like that.
