Ebony's POV

I am having a hard time sitting through dinner tonight. I know that Alice is lying about everything she said Thomas tried to do to her, and it makes me wonder what else she is lying about. Not only that, she kept saying smart remarks about my mom being an Omega and housekeeper's daughter and how my grandparents were worthless and traitors. It was taking so much strength not to tell her about herself. 

Keith realized that I was upset and placed his hand on mine. I knew he wanted to say something, but I told him not to because I knew it would cause more problems. He promised he wouldn't as long as she didn't say anything disrespectful about me. What made me mad was that Jacob would smile at her lovingly as she said those hateful things. It was like he was blinded by the mate bond and couldn't see her true colors. 

"I can't wait for Ebony's Celebration tomorrow. Wait until you see the dress that she picked out," Alissa said, trying to change the topic of conversation.

"I am the one that picked out her dress. Ebony had no idea what type of dress to wear to this type of event. I can't blame her, though, seeing as to who her mother is and all. If she didn't seduce my Mate and tricked him into getting her pregnant, Alissa would have been the firstborn and future Queen," Alice said

"Stop it, mom," Alissa said

"I am just stating the facts, Alissa. You are the one who should have been the firstborn and the future Queen. Her mother thought she would steal an Alpha but got what she deserved once he met me. His true Mate," Alice said. Keith was about to say something, but I held onto his hand, stopping him. 

"I know what you are trying to do. You are trying to make me act out of character, but I won't because, unlike you, I have class. You would think that the Queen would be more sophisticated than your conniving ass," I said, causing Alice to gasp in shock.

"How dare you say that to me?" Alice said 

"Ebony, you need to apologize to Alice this instant. She has been nothing but welcoming to you since you arrived," Jacob said, causing me to laugh.

"I am not apologizing to her. She has not been welcoming and has been disrespecting me this whole dinner talking about my mom and her parents. You are just too blind to see how she really is because of the mate bond," I said

"You see, Jacob. This is what I was worried about. I told you her mother might have brainwashed her against me," Alice cried.

"Oh, please stop with the fake tears, Alice. My mom has never said one word about you or Jacob. I feel the way I do about you because of your actions, so don't bring my mom into this," I said 

"I can't do this. If she is going to disrespect me, then I am leaving Jacob. Come on, Alissa, let's pack our things," Alice said 

"No, Alice, don't go. Ebony, do you see what you are doing? You are causing an issue between my Mate and me. I will not put up with this. You are just like your mother. Alice was right. You act like an omega," Jacob said

"How dare you say that to my mate," Keith said, standing from his seat.

"You better sit down, boy, or I will make you," Jacob said 

"Then make me," Keith said, and Jacob came over to him, but I stood in front of Keth.

"No, you will not touch my Mate," I growled.

"Move out of the way, Ebony," Keith said 

"No, you two are not about to fight because this bitch is trying to cause trouble," I said 

"How dare you call my Mate a bitch? Apologize right now, Ebony," Jacob said 

"No," I replied

"I SAID APOLOGIZE," Jacob said using his Alpha tone. Everyone in the room kneeled because his aura was strong from being the Werewolf King, except me. But, to Jacob's surprise and everyone else's, I was still standing with my head held high.

"I am not apologizing to her because she disrespected me. If anything, she needs to apologize to me, but I know she is way too proud to do that," I said 

"Alice is right. You are just like your mother," Jacob said and walked out of the room with Alice. Keith stood up and pulled me to him, hugging me close. 

"Don't cry, My Love. Everything will be okay," Keith said. I didn't even realize I was crying until I felt a tear hit my cheek. 

"I don't want to be here anymore, Keith. I am ready to go home," I said 

"Okay, if that is what you want, then we can go home," Keith said 

"It is what I want. I can't stay here anymore with the both of them," I said

"Okay, let's go pack our belongings, and I will have our private jet pick us up,"
