Ebony's POV

"Are you sure you want to do this? I can tell him if you want," Keith asked. I was standing on the floor Jacob and Alissa had been staying in, ready to talk to them. I asked Keith to let me come alone, but he wouldn't let me. He said he needed to make sure I was safe, and since we didn't fully trust Jacob and definitely didn't trust his guards, Keith walked with me. I didn't argue with him because I knew he was right.

"I am okay. I need to talk to them myself. Get everything off my mind," I replied. 

"Okay," Keith said, and I knocked on the door. 

"Ebony, I am happy to see you," Jacob said as he opened the door.

"Can I come in? I need to talk to you," I replied

"Of course, come inside," Jacob said, and Keith and I walked in. 

"Would you like to have a seat?" Jacob asked

"No, this won't take long," I replied. 

"Okay, but I want to apologize to you, Ebony. I should never have gone to see Alice after what she did to you, but you must understand that she is my Mate. I am sure you can understand how hard it would be to stay away from your Mate," Jacob said

"You are right. It would be hard to stay away from Keith if I ever had to, but I know without a doubt that I would always put my pup first. Even if it wasn't my Mates. I would never let Keith or anyone else hurt my pup," I replied

"You have to know I would never let Alice hurt you, Ebony. You are my daughter, and I love you," Jacob said

"How do you expect me to believe you when you were still seeing Alice even after what she did to me? You saw the whip marks she put on my back," I said, and I could see the guilt in his eyes. "And that didn't stop you from sneaking around and seeing her, even after what she did to me. The daughter you are claiming you love. If she would have hurt Alissa, would you have gone and seen her?" I asked. I could see by the look he gave me that he wouldn't. "Your facial expressions let me know you wouldn't. That right there shows me that you don't see me as your daughter. At least not like you see, Alissa,' I replied

"Ebony I," Jacob started, but I cut him off. 

"You need to leave Silvermoon by the end of tonight,' I said

"What, no. Ebony, I am trying to help you become Queen," Jacob said

"I honestly don't know if I can believe anything you say to me. I don't trust that you are on my side and not trying to play me so that Alice gets what she wants. You need to leave," I said and walked out the door. I couldn't help the tears that came from my eyes as I walked to Keiht and my floor.

Keith's POV

Keith, you have to believe me. I feel terrible seeing Alice after what she did to Ebony. Please talk to her and let her know I only want to help," Jacob said

"I am sorry, Jacob, but I think Ebony is right. You and Alissa need to leave Silvermoon by the end of tonight," I said and walked out of the room. I needed to go see Ebony because I could feel through the bond that she felt sad about the whole thing. 

I was starting to get upset because it seemed like Ebony was going through a lot. Not only with Jacob but with others in the werewolf Community. Yes, most of them were on our side, but I hated that everyone wanted Ebony to prove herself to them; Prove that she was worthy of being Queen. Of course, she was worthy of being Queen. It was her birthright, but hardly anyone knew that. All they knew was that she was not the daughter of Alice but an Omega that wasn't King Jacob's Mate. I knew that didn't mean anything, but everyone else didn't. The whole situation was bull shit. 

When I walked onto our floor, I was shocked to see Ebony changing into some workout wear. "What are you doing, My Love?" I asked

"I am going to talk to Abby. I want to see if her friend has arrived. That's supposed to help me get ready for the war. We need to start now if we want to win," Ebony said

"You want to go there now? I thought we were going to wait until after we rest," I asked.

"We don't have time to rest, Keith. We need to get ready now," Ebony replied and was about to walk past me. But before she could, I wrapped my hands around her waist and pulled her close to me. She sighed and leaned into my body, making me smile.

"Talk to me, My Love. I can tell something is bothering you. Is it Jacob and Alissa?" I asked

"Yeah, but not only them. I am tired of every one second guessing me. Not only do I have to put up with everyone wondering if I will be a great Queen, but I also have to worry about war and the whole Werewolf Community becoming extinct if I don't win," Ebony said

"Hey, you are not alone. I hate that you are going through all of this. I won't let you go through any of this alone. You have me and a lot of others that are on your side and loyal to you. You are the true Queen, and we will show everyone that this is your birthright. Everything is going to be okay,"  I replied 

"You really think so," Ebony asked.

"I know so because I know you, and even after everything you have been through, you are still one of the most caring and loving people I know. You still want to help the ones that hurt you. You even accepted me as your Mate after how horrible I was to you. All of that is proof that you are one of the strongest she-wolves in the world," I said, hugging her close to him.

"Thank you,"  Ebony replied, feeling better.

"Anytime. Now let's go see Abby."
