Rose Bailey: My Mate, My Flower Chapter 31

Rose's POV

I ran out of the training field quickly. I can't believe Derek would be with Vivian. Just because I didn't tell him about a party does not give him the right to run to his ex. That shows me that if I do something he doesn't like he will treat me like shit and go back to her. 

I have been walking around the pack territory for about thirty minutes now. I didn't know where to go but I didn't want to go home. I didn't have a car. I couldn't call Jason because he would try to kill Derek if he found out what happened. I didn't want to call my mom or Derek's parents. 

I picked up my phone and called the only person I could think of. On the second ring, they finally answered the phone

"Hello" 

"Hey, Mark it's Rose," I said.

I know I sounded horrible

"Are you ok? Why are you crying?"

"I'm fine, can you come to pick me up right outside the pack's land Please?" I asked him

"Of course, I'm on my way," He said and we hung up

I was worried they wouldn't let me out the gate but when I got there they let me pass. I smiled at them and walked a little away from the territory.

About thirty minutes later I saw Mark's car driving toward me. I got in and he drove away from Bloodmoon. 

"Where do you want to go?" He asked me to break the silence

"I don't care! Away from here" I replied

"I will take you back to Silvermoon if that's alright with you"

"Sure" 

The first ten minutes were silent. Just the sound of the rap music was heard. All I could think about was Derek and Vivian. Why would he choose to be with her? I was so caught up in my thoughts that I didn't hear Mark talking to me.

He put his hand in front of my face bringing me back to reality. He had stopped the car on the side of the road. 

"I'm sorry! Did you say something?" I asked him 

"What happened, Rose? I can tell you are upset about something. You can talk to me. I won't tell anyone." He said

I couldn't help but break down and tell him everything that happened. I told him about the party and what happened there. I also told him about Derek coming and how when we got home he ignored me. I told him about my seeing Derek and Vivian together.

Mark looked pissed after I was done telling him what happened

"I can't believe those guys would try something with you. What are their names and I will beat their asses." He said

"Derek already has them somewhere. He is taking care of it"

"I'm going to tell Derek to let me help him take care of them. Nobody fucks with my little sister. I am going to take care of Derek too. Why would he let that bitch anywhere near him when he has a mate?" He said

I couldn't help but smile at the way he talked about me. We haven't known each other that long and he still wants to protect me. 

"Mark it's ok! I don't want you fighting with Derek. I will deal with it later but right now I need to get away."

"OK, but at least call your mom and let her know where you are so she isn't worried about you. You can hang with me until you're ready to go back. We can get to know each other. I always wanted brothers and sisters." He said with a warm smile

"That sounds great," I said and smiled back at him

He started driving to the Silvermoon Packhouse. 

I called my mom letting her know I was with Mark and we were going to hang out. She said that was fine and to call if I needed anything.

"My mom is ok with me hanging out with you," I said

I looked over and saw him smiling while he was driving. We talked about our likes and dislikes. He told me he was the Beta of the Silvermoon Pack. He took over after our dad retired. He is basically second in command. 

Once we arrived at the Silvermoon Pack, I saw Keith and Ebony outside smiling. We got out of the car and walked over toward them.

"Hey Rose! I'm happy to see you" Ebony said as she hugged me

"I'm happy to see you, Ebony," I said while hugging her back.

"You would think you two don't go to school together," Mark said sarcastically

I looked over at him and rolled my eyes playfully

"That's not the point. We hardly get to hang out at school" Ebony said

"Come, Rose, let's hang out for a while," Ebony said

"But I was going to spend time with Mark," I said confused

"Mark and I have some business we need to discuss," Keith said. Mark and he were looking at each other strangely. I knew they were mindlinking.

"I'm sorry Rose! We have something we have to take care of" Mark said. I could tell he was angry by the tone of his voice.

"It's fine! I don't mind hanging with Ebony" I said

Ebony and I went outside to the backyard.

"So you gonna tell me what's wrong," She asked me

I told her everything that happened last night up to when Mark picked me up. She listened to me without interruption. 

"I think you should talk to him before jumping to conclusions." She said after I was done speaking

"Why? What could he say that justifies him going to his ex" I asked 

"How do you know he went to her? Yeah, you saw them in an awkward position but there could be a logical explanation on how they got there." 

I thought about what she said and still didn't believe there could be a logical explanation for what I saw.

"I have known Vivian forever and trust me when I say she is sneaky. She probably planned that to happen" 

"Even if she planned for it to happen, he shouldn't have let her that close to him," I said

She sighed before replying "At least give him a chance to explain what happened"

"Fine"
