Alpha's Twins Chapter 104
Adrian left, leaving me standing there in complete shock. I touched my neck, my fingers running over the tender, swollen skin.
I rushed to the nearest door and yanked it open—it was a private room. I bolted straight for the attached bathroom.
The moment I caught sight of my reflection, I gasped and slapped my hand over my mouth.
There it was—a dark hickey on my neck!
"Adrian Miller, you absolute bastard," I muttered, staring at the mark in disbelief.
"How the hell am I supposed to cover this up? My purse isn't even with me. I can't go out there looking like this."
I yanked at my hair in frustration. The rage building inside me made me want to punch the mirror.
I forced myself to take a deep breath and think rationally. But no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't come up with a solution. I was wearing a sleeveless, backless dress—there was literally no way to hide my neck.
I gripped the edge of the sink and cursed Adrian Miller's name.
"What the hell got into him? Why is he acting so weird? He's been completely off since yesterday. How dare he touch me like that?"
After standing there fuming for what felt like forever, I heard knocking on the bathroom door.
"Boss, are you in there?"
"Damia!"
I immediately threw open the door and saw her standing there.
"Thank God you're here. Eric sent you to find me, right?"
"Boss, I was—"
"It's fine. Just give me my purse," I said, snatching my bag from her hands.
I moved so quickly, hoping she wouldn't notice the mark on my neck. But it was too late.
"Boss, your neck!"
"I—I got hurt."
"Boss, that looks like..." she trailed off, staring at me.
I slammed the door shut, my face burning with embarrassment.
*Adrian Miller, I hate you.*
I dug through my purse and pulled out my concealer—the same one I used to hide the scar on my hand. I always carried it with me in case the scar became visible after washing.
Thank God for concealer. I managed to cover up the hickey completely.
When I stepped out of the bathroom, Damia jumped up from where she'd been sitting on the bed.
"Boss, are you okay?"
"I'm perfectly fine. Let's go."
Damia didn't ask any more questions and followed me out.
I silently prayed that no one had seen Adrian and me disappear together. The last thing I needed was more rumors spreading around. I couldn't let anything damage my brother's reputation.
When I walked back into the main hall, everyone seemed relaxed and normal. No one was whispering about me or Adrian.
I exhaled in relief and made my way over to Eric. He turned to me immediately.
"Where did you go?"
I frowned at him. Wasn't he the one who sent Damia after me?
I glanced at Damia, who shook her head. I looked back at Eric and shrugged.
"I went to the restroom."
"Want to grab some drinks?"
"No thanks. Can we leave now?"
"Why?"
"I'm not feeling well."
Eric reached for my hand. "What's wrong?"
I stared down at my hand and couldn't help remembering how Adrian had pinned my wrists just minutes ago.
I looked away and my eyes landed on the man sitting at the bar. He raised his glass toward me with a smug, victorious expression.
I shot him the nastiest glare I could manage, which Eric and several others definitely noticed.
"I'm leaving," I announced, turning on my heel.
"I'm coming with you," Eric said, following close behind.
Damia walked with us to the car. She quickly opened my door, and I slid inside. She sat next to me while Eric took the passenger seat.
"Should we see a doctor?" Eric asked, turning around to look at me.
I shook my head. I was still seething with anger. I had no clue why Adrian had done that to me. I touched my neck again and clenched my fist.
He probably wanted other people to see that mark so he could ruin my reputation in front of everyone. But I was lucky Damia had shown up when she did.
When we got back to the hotel, I was the first one out of the car.
I looked at Eric. "Goodnight."
"Let me walk you to your room."
"It's okay. I can manage."
Eric didn't push it—he could tell I wasn't in the mood.
As I headed toward my room, I heard Damia call out behind me.
"Boss."
I stopped and turned around. She walked over to me, looking nervous.
"I wanted to tell you that, I..." she hesitated.
I was getting impatient. "What is it, Damia?"
She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "It wasn't Beta Eric who sent me to you in that room. It was Alpha Adrian."
I stared at her in shock. "Adrian? Why would he send you?"
"He said you needed my help, so I went to find you."
Her words left me even more confused. Didn't Adrian want to humiliate me in front of everyone? Wasn't that the whole point of this sick game? Then why would he send Damia to help me?
I nodded at Damia, and she hurried off to her room.
I went into my room feeling completely bewildered. After changing into my pajamas, I touched my neck again, thinking about what an absolute creep Adrian was. Did he think he could just use me as his personal toy?
I tried to push it all out of my mind and went to bed, hoping sleep would cool down my boiling rage.
When I woke up, it was early morning.
As I sat up in bed, my phone started buzzing. I grabbed it to check the notifications.
My eyes went wide when I saw the breaking news headline:
"Sparks Flying Between Alpha Adrian and Sophia Hansely? The pair was spotted together at last night's Storm Forest Pack success celebration. Multiple Alphas confirm they were also seen together at the recent council party."
