Alpha's Twins Chapter 118

"Miss Natalia."

I heard a voice drifting past me, heading toward the stairs.

I turned and spotted Alpha Leo—head of the Moon Stone Pack.

My jaw tightened as I watched him extend his hand to Natalia, who was making her way down to the main floor. Without hesitation, she took his hand and flashed him a polite smile.

"Alpha Leo, how are you?" Natalia asked.

She never talked to me that politely. Why was she so cold with me but warm with everyone else?

"Because you treated her like crap when she was with you," my wolf growled in my head.

I brushed off his comment and kept staring at her as she exchanged nods and pleasantries with everyone around.

They were all looking at her with admiring eyes. I was floored when I saw even Patrick go over to shake her hand.

When I glanced left and right, I realized everyone had already headed to the meeting hall. I was the only one still standing there, staring at her like an idiot.

"We're not here to cause trouble. Adrian wants this alliance because he wants to help," Patrick said to her.

Natalia raised an eyebrow. "Help? We don't need any help."

I scoffed at how arrogant she'd become. Why had she never shown me this side when she was my wife?

She used to be this weak woman who cried at everything.

Such a crybaby.

I figured her sudden attitude came from being part of a royal family now.

When someone gets handed something big overnight, they become overconfident like that.

"Natalia, can I ask you a favor?" Patrick said.

I shot him a look. What favor could he possibly want from her? He was my beta—he didn't need anything from her.

"Yes?" Natalia asked, glancing over his shoulder at me.

When our eyes met, I forgot everything I'd been thinking about her. Those sharp eyes locked onto me like I was some kind of threat she needed to keep her distance from.

I looked away, shoved my hands in my pockets, and started walking toward the meeting hall.

"Tell your brother to put the past aside and think about this alliance objectively," Patrick said quietly.

That stopped me in my tracks. I turned back to see what she'd say.

She shook her head and answered calmly.

"My brother isn't the type to humiliate people just for kicks. He's professional. He'll make decisions based on what's best for the pack, not my personal history. Not everyone's like your Alpha, you know."

Patrick looked stunned. I was pissed at him. Why the hell had he even brought that up? Instead of getting a positive response, she'd used it to take a shot at me.

"She's not the head Alpha of this pack. Stop wasting time talking to her and let's go," I said to Patrick, stepping toward where everyone else had gone.

Patrick followed me in silence. I didn't say anything else to him. He shouldn't have gone to her in the first place.

When I walked into the meeting hall, I noticed everyone had gone quiet.

I looked around. There was a massive wooden table in the center, a few couches scattered around, and countless bookshelves lining the walls.

"Right. Pack of wizards," I muttered under my breath.

The Blue Blood Pack was huge and included plenty of wizards along with werewolves. They had a long history together. That's why pack members were always running to wizards for help whenever they faced problems.

Just thinking about it made me frown. Didn't that show how weak they were when things got tough?

Sure, they believed in unity and helping each other, but I'd never gone to any witch or wizard for help—not even when my father was dying.

"Alpha Adrian." Alpha Jason's voice made me look away from the books.

He was sitting in the head chair, with his beta Eric right beside him.

I walked to the table, ignoring his tone. I noticed all my officials had already taken their seats—they'd gotten here before Patrick and me.

I sat down with them and focused on Alpha Jason.

"I thought Alpha Adrian was always punctual. That's why he came to my pack a day early, right? So how come you're late to the meeting?"

I could see the others were worried I'd lose my temper. But I wasn't here for a fight, so I answered politely.

"Sorry about that, Alpha Jason. Something interesting caught my attention, so I got distracted."

Everyone looked shocked. They knew exactly what I was talking about.

Alpha Jason chuckled. "Of course. I have many interesting things in my pack. That's why Alpha Adrian dropped everything and came here for an alliance."

I nodded, showing I wasn't looking for conflict.

As the meeting started, everyone presented their proposals one by one. Seven Alphas were in the hall, all pitching their deals to Alpha Jason.

When my turn came, Patrick laid out my proposals. The other Alphas looked horrified when Patrick mentioned military support.

"Would Alpha Adrian personally come to defend this pack?" one Alpha asked.

"If needed, yes," I said, turning to face him.

You could see it in all their eyes—they were screwed. Even without this proposal, I was clearly the obvious choice. Who else could offer this pack the resources I could? I'd built my pack strong enough to support any other pack.

Everyone turned to Alpha Jason, who was staring at me.

"Impressed?" I asked, since he really had no other choice.

Suddenly, he burst out laughing. I frowned at him.

"Alpha Adrian Miller, you're something else, man," he said, still chuckling.

The whole hall went dead silent.

"How can you even think my pack needs you? I'm strong enough to protect my own pack. You think a guy who got his ass handed to him by my sister and lost business deals to her is going to help me in a war? You've got to be kidding."
