Alpha's Twins Chapter 279
Adrian let out a vicious snarl, hurling the tablet to the floor as those damning photos filled the screen - snapshots from the night he'd ended things with Lynda for good.
Someone had been lurking in the shadows with a camera when Lynda made her desperate last-ditch attempt to kiss him. Sure, he'd pushed her away that night, but whoever took these shots had the perfect angle to make it look like the exact opposite.
Like they were actually hooking up.
Adrian was already having the worst day imaginable, and this garbage - these twisted lies - hit him like a freight train.
"What the hell! Who had the balls to post these photos?"
His secretary kept his head down, clearly as clueless as Adrian about where this came from.
"Which news outlet?"
"Moonlight Star," came the quiet response.
Adrian's hands curled into fists. "Call those bastards. I want to know exactly what kind of headline they're running about me."
His secretary was already pulling up the number, dialing from his personal phone. When someone picked up, he jumped right in.
"Hello?"
"Yeah, who's this?"
The secretary hit speakerphone. "Is this Moonlight Star News?"
"That's right."
"I'm calling about your latest story on Alpha Adrian. What's the headline you ran today?"
"Why do you want to know?"
The secretary glanced at Adrian, who was staring at the phone like he wanted to crush it. "I've got some intel on him. You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours."
After a pause: "Nothing fancy. Just that after his ex-wife moved on with that healer Max Harrison, Alpha Adrian got back together with his ex-girlfriend."
Adrian actually laughed - a cold, humorless sound. He shook his head. "You guys really don't mess around when it comes to clickbait, do you?"
The reporter's voice changed instantly when he heard Adrian's deep growl through the speaker.
"Wait... who is this?"
Adrian snatched the phone from his secretary, taking it off speaker. "Your worst nightmare."
"W-what?"
"Who gave you permission to publish lies about me? You have no clue what you just stepped in. I'm wondering what I should do about your family."
"A-Alpha!"
"You're the manager, right? Get your boss on the line. Tell him I'm shutting down his little operation because he decided to mess with the head Alpha's private life."
"Alpha, we didn't do anything wrong! Someone sent us those photos from an untraceable number. We just wrote the story."
Adrian wasn't buying it. He didn't need a PhD to figure out who'd sent those photos.
"That's exactly why I asked about the headline, not the photos."
Dead silence. The guy was probably scrambling to call his boss.
Adrian tossed the phone back to his secretary. "Destroy that company. Cut off every bank that's ever given them a loan. I want them bankrupt by sunrise."
His secretary nodded - just another day at the office when you worked for Alpha Adrian.
Once his secretary left and Adrian was alone in his office, something clicked in his brain.
He grabbed his suit jacket and headed for the door without hesitation.
"I'm not letting her get the wrong idea about me. Not this time."
