Alpha's Twins Chapter 205

I figured Natalia would be happy, but boy was I wrong. Her calm eyes went ice cold.

She sucked in a sharp breath, struggling to breathe normally. I had no clue what had set her off.

"Adrian Miller, are you planning to humiliate me again?"

That caught me off guard. I raised an eyebrow. "What makes you think that?"

She let out a bitter laugh and shook her head. "A guy like you? I can't trust you. You're definitely up to something."

I just stared at her, speechless. Did she really think that little of me?

"I'm not going to the party. If you want to surprise them, bring them to my house. I'll spend time with them there. I don't trust their father. I'm not walking into another trap where I get insulted. He's already done enough damage to my family. Not happening again."

Before I could tell her I wasn't plotting anything, she hung up on me.

The screen went black for a second, then switched to her wallpaper. I took a closer look at the picture.

A young woman holding two kids. All three of them looked genuinely happy together.

I clenched my fists and closed the tab.

I apologized, didn't I? Why was she being so damn stubborn?

I pushed back from my chair. Before heading to the kids' room, I made sure to put out my cigarette.

I saw they'd already finished dinner.

"Dad, we're done."

Aria ran over to me. I scooped her up in my arms and glanced at Noah, who was glued to his phone. I set Aria down on the bed and handed her the tablet.

"You two need to get some sleep. It's getting late."

Noah didn't even look up, but Aria nodded.

I left their room and walked out of the pack house.

Outside, I spotted Patric standing there. I walked over and stood next to him.

"Sorry to keep you waiting," I mumbled.

He was staring intensely at a tree. I couldn't figure out what had him so deep in thought.

I shoved my hands in my pockets and followed his gaze to the tree.

"Adrian, I was wrong about Lynda. Look, I'm not her biggest fan. But she nearly died for you."

I let out a long breath. "I just found out about the broken bones today."

He turned to look at me. "So what are you gonna do now? You thought she helped you, but now we know how badly she got hurt."

I kept watching the tree leaves dance in the cold wind, staying quiet.

After thinking for a moment, Patric asked, "Seems like you're having second thoughts about ending things, especially after you stood up for Lynda against your parents. I mean, no other woman would've been that brave, doing what she did for you. She's got what it takes to be Luna - someone who'd do anything for her Alpha."

The cold breeze hit my face and I closed my eyes. There was something in the air.

Why did I feel like everything was about to change?

"Adrian, do you want to call off the announcement?"

I opened my eyes at Patric's question. I looked at him and said, "Don't cancel it. Just postpone it."

Patric looked shocked. I guess anyone would want to marry the woman who'd risked her life for them.

"Don't look so surprised, Beta Patric. If you're reacting like this, it means you still don't really know your Alpha."
