Alpha's Twins Chapter 28

**Natalia's POV**

Two days had passed since I'd returned to the Blue Blood Pack after that council event. I was still shaken up from what happened.

Seeing Adrian with my kids had nearly given me a heart attack. For a terrifying moment, I thought he'd figured out the truth.

But somehow, I'd dodged that bullet. He hadn't caused any drama or made a scene.

I figured he just didn't care where the kids came from or who their parents were. Which worked perfectly for me. All I could do now was pray he'd never get curious about it.

"Mom, what are you thinking about?" Aria asked.

She was sitting on my bed, watching me with those big eyes of hers.

I stopped brushing my hair, realizing I'd been standing in front of the mirror lost in thought for way too long.

I turned to face her. "Nothing, sweetheart."

I walked over and sat down beside her. When she wrapped her little arms around me, I couldn't help but smile.

"Mom, something's wrong with Noah."

That got my attention fast. I looked at her and cupped her face in my hands.

"What do you mean? What happened?"

"Ever since we got back from that pack, he's been really angry."

Her words made me frown. I tried to think back to everything that went down that day.

"Tell me exactly what happened while you were there."

Aria put her finger to her chin, thinking hard. I had to smile and kiss her cheek—she was just too cute.

"Well, Grandpa told Uncle William to take us to find you. So we went to the airport and flew to that pack and..." She trailed off.

I leaned down to get a better look at her face. "What is it, baby?"

She mumbled in a quiet voice, "We met that really handsome man."

I raised an eyebrow. "Handsome man?"

She nodded. "The guy we sat with."

My heart skipped a beat when I realized she was talking about Adrian.

"Aria, I need you to tell me exactly what he said to you."

She looked confused by my sudden urgency. I ran my fingers through her hair gently. "I need to understand why Noah's so upset."

She nodded and continued, "I asked if we could sit with him. He said it wasn't a public place and we could sit anywhere we wanted. But Noah thought he was being mean to me, so they got into an argument."

After hearing that, I was pissed at Adrian. Who argues with a little kid?

"Did he ask you anything about me?"

"No. He just asked about our pack."

My eyes went wide.

*What if he figures out the truth?*

I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down.

Just then, one of the maids appeared at my door.

"Miss Natalia, the Alpha wants to see you in the living room."

I nodded, but before she left, I asked, "Where's Noah?"

"He's with Beta Eric. They're playing some game."

That made me feel a little better. Eric was like an angel with my kids. The way he looked after them was incredible.

This year I'd missed their parent-teacher conference because of work, and Eric had stepped up without me even asking. I could see how much he adored my children.

I took Aria's hand and we walked out of my room. When we got to the living room, I saw my parents, Jason, and Eric were all there.

"Where's Noah?" I asked Eric. He pointed toward his room. "He's in my room."

I told Aria to go find Noah and play with him. She nodded and skipped out of the living room.

I walked over to my brother. "You wanted to see me?"

Jason nodded. "Yeah, but it was Dad who wanted to talk."

I turned to my father. He was sitting on the couch and patted the spot next to him. I sat down.

"Dad?"

"Natalia, I want you to take over the pack's business operations."

I was caught completely off guard. "The business?"

"Yes. I want you to join Hansley Group."

"But Dad, you know what I want to do. That's not the career path I'm interested in. I want to work in medicine."

"We all know that. But your brother needs help. He's juggling way too much right now. If you could take some of that load off his shoulders, it would mean everything."

I glanced over at Jason. He gave me a small nod. When I looked at my mom, she was smiling encouragingly.

"Your father's right, Natalia," she said.

I looked down at my hands in my lap. "Dad, why are you making this decision so suddenly?"

He put his hand on my head. "Sweetheart, as your father, I have to make tough calls sometimes. I know you've got what it takes. You won't let me down."

I sighed and nodded. "Okay, Dad. If that's what you want."

"Eric will take you to the company tomorrow. He'll help you get prepared for what's ahead," Jason said, looking over at Eric.

After talking it through with my family, I understood the plan. I'd help my brother run the pack. Jason would handle warrior training and pack security. I'd take over the business side of things.

My parents were ready to retire and wanted to travel the world, trusting that Jason and I could handle the pack's affairs together.

If this was what my parents wanted, I wouldn't disappoint them.

As I was heading back to my room, Eric caught up with me.

"So, are you ready to join the Hansley Group, Miss Hansley?"

I laughed. "What position did Dad have in mind for me?"

I figured my father wanted me in some kind of management role or something similar.

But Eric's answer completely floored me.

"You'll be the CEO of Hansley Group."
