Alpha's Twins Chapter 141
"Dad, I'll be okay," I told my father. After one last look at my kids, I followed the guards out of the room.
"Where is he?" I asked as we headed upstairs.
Jason was in a guest room downstairs, so when they led me up, I wondered where they were taking me to find Adrian.
"Where he belongs. The head Alpha's bedroom," one guard answered.
I stopped dead in my tracks.
They looked back at me. "Why'd you stop? Come on, let's move. We don't want the Alpha pissed at us."
The other guard shook his head. "You don't know our head Alpha. Guy's ruthless when it comes to punishment. We can't afford to get on his bad side."
Seeing the fear in their faces, I started walking again.
They had no idea who I was. No clue I used to be their head Alpha's wife. That's why they were warning me about him.
My heart sank as I walked toward what used to be my brother's bedroom. Someone else had claimed the room that once belonged to him.
I couldn't accept it.
When we reached the master bedroom, the guards stopped and knocked.
Like Adrian had given them permission through the mind link, they opened the door and gestured for me to go in.
I took a deep breath and stepped inside. The door clicked shut behind me immediately.
The room was huge—fitting for the pack house's head Alpha.
Every corner reminded me of my brother. The memories hit me hard.
"Done checking the place out?"
I spun toward the deep voice. There he was.
Adrian walked toward me, wine glass in hand. His bare chest displayed the claw marks I'd left on him.
As he got closer, I looked away. I couldn't meet his eyes. I was powerless against him now. All because of my children.
"What was your family saying to me? How they'd do this and that to me. And now? All those threats were completely worthless."
Adrian's voice cut through me, his mocking tone making me feel even smaller. I wanted to respond but couldn't find the words.
He stopped right in front of me. Even with my head down, my eyes went to his abs, then slowly up to his chest. I could see where my claws had torn into his skin.
Suddenly, he grabbed my chin and forced me to look at him.
"What happened to all that attitude, Natalia Hansley? Why won't you look at me now?" he growled, anger threading through his voice.
When our eyes met, all I saw was disgust and contempt. His dark eyes seemed to pierce right through me as he sneered.
"Look where I am now. Didn't your brother refuse to let me stay here? See how fate screwed over your family. Now this is my pack house, and I decide whether they get to stay or not."
