Alpha's Twins Chapter 193

Patrick didn't say anything for a while, like he was zoning out. When I shot him a look, he just stared back at me, confused.

"You sure about this, Adrian?"

I looked away from him and focused on the dark sky outside. I took a long drag from my cigarette, exhaling the smoke through my nose with my mouth shut.

"Yeah."

I kept staring at the moon. It seemed to be following us as we drove.

"Hey there?" I heard Patrick's laid-back voice.

He'd gotten someone to handle the announcement. It would go out on social media so every pack member would know.

"Put the word out that the Alpha isn't seeing anyone anymore. He's single now."

I turned to look at Patrick. He winked at me, clearly happy with my decision.

I rolled my eyes. What was his deal with Linda anyway?

That woman was completely innocent. Who could possibly have a problem with her?

After talking to someone else on the phone, Patrick turned back to me.

"Done. Our guys will take care of it. By tomorrow morning, everyone will know about your breakup. Maybe this will get back to whoever you want to hear about it."

I stared at him for a long moment. He really knew me inside and out. People were right—Betas really were an Alpha's best friends. They didn't just dedicate their lives to their Alpha; they looked out for them in every situation and dealt with them when they were at their lowest.

Patrick had always been there for me through everything over the years. I was lucky to have a Beta and friend like him.

"Adrian, anything else we need to talk about?" he asked.

I thought about it for a second, then nodded. The cigarette I was holding had burned all the way down to the filter. I took one last drag.

Patrick handed me the ashtray that stayed in my car since I smoked pretty regularly.

I stubbed out the cigarette and said, "Set up a nice place for Linda outside pack territory. Something worth at least five million."

Patrick's eyebrows shot up in surprise, but he nodded and started tapping away on his phone, looking for properties.

"Help her move in and get settled. Let her live there comfortably until she finds someone."

"That it?"

"No."

Patrick glanced at me curiously.

"I want to give her five percent of my company shares. She can't work there, but she'll get the monthly profits."

"Adrian, do you realize what you're saying?"

I didn't answer his question. Money and property weren't really my concern.

The woman who saved my life deserved a better life and some compensation.

The car pulled up to the pack house and stopped outside.

The driver got out to open my door.

I stepped out and headed into the pack house with Patrick.

But the moment I walked inside, I heard crying.

I froze when I saw Linda sobbing on the couch, her head on my mother's shoulder.

When she spotted me, she jumped to her feet.

"What's wrong?" I asked her.

She ran over and threw her arms around me.

"Adrian, I remembered everything."

I didn't get what she meant at first. Then she spoke again.

"I remembered saving a boy and getting this scar on my hand when I was little. And that boy was you, Adrian. I saved your life and put mine on the line for you."
