Alpha's Twins Chapter 90
My blood was boiling with rage. I shot up from my chair and hurled the report across the room.
"I can't fucking believe this."
Patric walked over to where the papers had scattered on the floor. He picked up the report and scanned it, then looked at me with worried eyes. I could see the fear written all over his face.
I clenched my jaw, trying to keep my anger in check. My hands were shaking, veins bulging as fury coursed through me.
A growl escaped my throat before I could stop it.
I swept everything off my desk and kicked my chair so hard it slammed into the wall. How could those kids not be mine?
"Adrian—"
Patric rushed over and grabbed my arms before I could flip the entire desk.
I felt like I could tear this whole place apart.
"She can't have another man's kids!" I roared.
"Adrian, calm down. I told you this might happen. They're not yours."
I yanked away from him. His words only made me angrier.
"Adri—"
He stopped mid-sentence when he saw my eyes flash red. His own eyes went wide as he dropped his gaze and bowed his head.
"Alpha," he whispered.
"That woman! How dare she!"
I shook my head and started looking for my phone, kicking through the mess on the floor.
"Give me your phone," I snapped at Patric.
He looked up, confused. "What?"
"I said give me your fucking phone!" I growled, making him jump.
He quickly pulled his phone from his pocket and handed it over.
I scrolled through his contacts until I found what I was looking for.
"Natalia."
Patric must have realized what I was about to do because he grabbed my wrist.
"Alpha, please don't. Calling her will only make things worse."
"I'm losing my mind here. That woman owes me an explanation."
I knew she'd never answer if I called from my own phone. So I used Patric's instead, and she picked up.
"Beta Patric?"
Her voice came through the speaker. My grip tightened on the phone, then I forced myself to relax so I could actually talk to her.
"Why did you do it?" I asked.
Silence.
"How could you?"
"I don't want to talk to you any—"
"I ran a DNA test and got the results," I cut her off.
"W-What?"
She sounded nervous. Maybe even scared.
But why?
Something told me she was afraid I'd discover some truth she was still hiding.
"So you were telling the truth? You really slept with another man while we were married. You're shameless! I don't care if you're an Alpha's daughter—how are you going to hide this from everyone? How will you face the world when they find out what kind of woman you really are?"
Natalia went completely silent. I pulled the phone away to check if she'd hung up.
The call was still connected, so I spoke again.
"What? Cat got your tongue?"
She cleared her throat and took a deep breath.
"I'm glad you did that DNA test. Now that you know the truth, please leave me and my children alone. If you think I cheated on you, then you should be happy we're divorced. Be happy and stay away from me."
"How dare you tell me what to—"
She hung up on me!
I hurled the phone against the wall, watching it shatter.
Patric's jaw dropped—I'd just destroyed his phone—but he didn't say a word.
I grabbed my suit jacket and headed for the door. Patric followed and tried to stop me.
"Where are you going?"
"To hell. Want to come with me?"
He stayed quiet as I walked out of my office.
When I got to the parking garage, I went straight to my car. My driver saw me coming and rushed to open the back door.
"Give me the keys."
"But Alpha—"
I glared at him until he shut up. I had no idea what was wrong with me, but I felt like I could kill anyone who crossed my path.
My driver handed over the keys, and I got behind the wheel. As soon as I started the engine, I floored it.
Natalia's voice kept echoing in my head.
That woman was driving me insane. If this kept up, I'd lose everything and become a complete madman.
It was all her fault. I wanted to kill her. Maybe if I did, I'd finally feel better.
My wolf rebelled against the thought. I'd almost forgotten—she was still my mate.
I still had every right to claim her, to keep her from anyone else. But why couldn't I feel our mate bond when we were married? If I had, I would have made sure she could never leave me. She would have been mine forever.
If I'd known she would torture me like this, I would have made those two years hell for her.
She was going to pay for what I was going through now. I wouldn't let her get away with this.
I ended up parking outside some club. When I walked in, people practically scattered out of my way.
I went straight to the bar, sat down on a stool, and ordered a drink.
I kept drinking, one after another. My mind kept drifting back to her. I hated myself for it.
Why couldn't I just forget her?
I was so wasted I lost track of time completely. I tried to stand up but stopped when I saw Natalia smiling at me from across the room. She was waving me over to the dance floor.
"That's not Natalia."
A voice beside me snapped me back to reality.
I turned and blinked, trying to focus.
"Patric."
He sat down next to me and ordered his own drink.
He turned his stool toward me and asked a question that almost sobered me up completely.
"Adrian, when are you going to admit that you love her?"
