Alpha's Twins Chapter 145
He looked stunned. I brushed off his reaction and stuck the knife back in the box, then grabbed a pair of scissors to hold a cotton ball.
After dabbing the cotton ball on my palm until it was soaked with blood, I pressed it against the wound on his neck.
He winced as my blood began healing his wound. I knew it hurt like hell, but it worked.
"Don't worry. It'll heal up fast," I said, still working on his neck.
He stared at me with those sharp, calculating eyes. "Why are you helping me?"
I hesitated, meeting his gaze. The doubt written all over his face was impossible to miss.
"I don't have some hidden agenda. I was just walking by and saw you were hurt. I feel bad about what happened to the people who came to help my brother."
He gave me this blank stare, then muttered, "Your brother disrespected my Alpha and tried to trash his reputation at the last pack meeting. Any other Alpha would've killed all of you that day. You have no clue how pissed he was. He held back from all your attacks and stopped us from going after you."
I straightened up, finished with treating his neck. Looking at him calmly, I said, "I could've killed him too after he murdered Alpha Leo."
He shook his head. "You've got it all wrong. There's a huge difference between being a head Alpha and just a regular Alpha. It takes years of training to become a head Alpha. They can handle all the responsibilities of running a pack. Why else do you think people trust them with their lives?"
It hit me that he was absolutely right. My wolf might be huge, but I wasn't trained. Fighting skills mattered in any war.
Size didn't mean jack—skill did. Being big was just an advantage you could use if you knew what you were doing.
"Look, Gamma Benjamin. I know my brother screwed up. You don't need to keep reminding me. But your Alpha winning our pack doesn't make him any better. He's planning to kick my family and me out soon. He's just showing how cruel he really is. He was ruthless before, and now he's turned into some kind of demon who only wants revenge on me."
He shot me a hard look. "What do you expect from a guy who finds out he has kids and that his ex-wife ran off with them after the divorce?"
His question hit me like a punch to the gut. Was this my fault? When we were getting divorced, didn't Adrian tell me he didn't want kids with me?
I was just trying to protect them.
Was I really that wrong?
I started to argue back. "Benjamin, I—"
But a furious growl cut me off.
Benjamin and I both spun toward the door.
Adrian stood there, the door wide open. He looked at me, then at Benjamin sitting on the bed in front of me.
His eyes came back to me. "What are you doing with my gamma?"
