Alpha's Twins Chapter 113

When I opened my eyes, bright sunlight hit my face, making it impossible to see clearly or drift back to sleep.

I grabbed my pillow and pressed it over my face, trying to block out the harsh morning light.

But sleep wasn't happening—someone was knocking on my door, insistent on waking me up.

"Miss Natalia."

One of the housekeepers called through the door. Just hearing her voice made my head throb like someone was hammering inside my skull.

"Go away. I'll get up later," I mumbled into the pillow.

"Miss Natalia, your brother needs to see you. You have to get up."

I didn't move. I was so close to falling back asleep when another round of knocking shattered any hope of that.

I threw the pillow across the room and sat up, furious.

"What?" I croaked, my voice barely working.

The moment I raised my voice, my throat felt like sandpaper and my head pounded even harder.

"Come in," I managed to say loud enough for her to hear.

The housekeeper entered carrying a tray with a glass of water and a steaming mug of coffee.

She set the tray on my nightstand, and I noticed a small white pill sitting next to the water glass.

"Your brother said you should take this medicine."

I stared at the pill, confused. "Medicine for what?"

"Your hangover."

My eyebrows shot up. "How does Jason know I have a hangover?"

"You came home pretty drunk last night."

Oh God. The memories started flooding back, and my stomach dropped.

I covered my face with my hands. "Right. Yeah, that happened."

The housekeeper actually giggled at my reaction. I dropped my hands and glared at her. "What's so funny?"

She looked down, trying to hide her smile. "Sorry, Miss. You were just... pretty entertaining last night."

I blinked, trying to piece together what I might have done. "Did the kids see me like that?"

She shook her head, and I let out a huge sigh of relief.

"Okay, you can go now."

She nodded and left me alone with my mortification.

I rubbed my temples, trying to remember the night before. Then it hit me—Dr. Max had been there.

My jaw dropped. "Oh no! Dr. Max saw me completely wasted!"

I slapped my cheeks lightly. "What must he think of me?"

All that effort I'd put into making a good impression at the council party, completely ruined in one night.

"Natalia, you idiot. If you can't handle your liquor, don't drink," I muttered to myself.

I checked my phone and cursed. I was already late for work, something that never happened to me.

There was a text from Eric saying he'd already called the office to let them know I wouldn't be in today.

Great. Everyone's trying to help me be responsible, and here I am acting like a college freshman.

I quickly swallowed the pill with the water, hoping it would kill this splitting headache.

I rushed to the bathroom for the fastest shower of my life. Jason was probably furious, and I didn't want to make things worse by keeping him waiting.

After my shower, I threw on a simple dress since I wasn't going into the office anyway.

I dried my hair as fast as I could and headed downstairs, dreading the conversation I was about to have.

When I reached the living room, Jason was sitting on the couch with my twins.

"Mommy!"

They spotted me and ran over. I hugged them tight, and they grabbed my hands, pulling me toward the couch.

I couldn't look Jason in the eye as I sat down. I was more nervous than I'd been before closing our biggest deal last year.

"Jason, I'm sorry," I mumbled.

"Mommy, why are you saying sorry to Uncle Jason? Did you do something bad?" Aria asked.

I nodded. "Yeah, sweetie. Mommy made a mistake and upset Uncle Jason."

I glanced at Jason, hoping he'd say something, but he just stared at me silently. I smiled at the twins. "Can you guys go play in your room? Mommy needs to talk to Uncle Jason."

"Okay, Mommy," Noah said, and they both ran off.

When they were gone, I turned back to Jason. He didn't look like he was in a forgiving mood. I got up and sat next to him on the couch.

I grabbed his hand. "Jason, please. I'm really sorry."

He rolled his eyes. I gave him my best puppy dog look. "Come on, aren't I your little sister? Can't you forgive me just this once?"

He pushed me away with one finger. "Natalia, you were alone with some guy while you were drunk. What if he'd tried something? You weren't exactly in any condition to defend yourself."

I grabbed his arm. "Jason, don't be mad at Dr. Max too. He's a good guy. He just helped me get to the car."

He turned to look at me. "Is he the reason you won't give Eric a real chance?"

My eyes went wide. I pulled back and shook my head frantically.

"What? No! I've never thought about him like that."

He studied my face carefully, then patted my head. "I'd do anything for you, Natalia. If you like someone, just tell me. I could accept any man for you, except—"

"Alpha."

Jason's officials walked in, interrupting him mid-sentence.

I looked over as they approached us. Eric glanced at me quickly before focusing on Jason.

He nodded toward the front of the house. "He's here."

I frowned, having no idea who they were talking about. But when I looked outside, I saw several black luxury cars parked in our driveway.

I watched in shock as guards got out of the other vehicles and opened the back door of the car in the center.

A man in an expensive black suit stepped out, and even from here, I could feel the power radiating off him.

I heard Jason mutter under his breath:

"Alpha Adrian."
