**Third Person POV**

Even though Lynda had no clue why Adrian had summoned her, excitement bubbled up inside her chest. Sure, seeing all his officials gathered at his house caught her off guard for a second.

But that didn't matter. Adrian had called *her* personally.

She found herself mesmerized, staring at the gorgeous man sitting across from her. For years, she'd had him wrapped around her little finger. So when he suddenly dropped the breakup bomb and confessed his love for Natalia, it had completely blindsided her.

But with Natalia chasing after Max instead of fighting for Adrian, it had been almost too easy for Lynda to reel him back in.

Adrian gestured for her to sit beside him. Lynda practically floated over to the couch, wearing her brightest smile.

Meanwhile, every single official in the room looked like they were about to jump out of their skin. They kept shooting nervous glances at each other, clearly having no idea what Adrian was planning.

Without even looking at her, Adrian asked, "When I saw you after my marriage, what exactly did you tell me?"

The question threw her completely off balance. She glanced toward Beta Patric, but his face was a total blank.

She turned back to Adrian, forcing a confused laugh. "What do you mean? I honestly can't remember."

He frowned at her answer. When he finally turned to face her, she could see storm clouds brewing in his expression.

She took a shaky breath and cleared her throat. "You mean our first meeting?"

"No. Our second one."

"Oh, right. The s-second meeting," Lynda stammered, her heart skipping as she realized how close she'd come to slipping up.

"What did I tell you about Natalia?" he pressed, his voice getting clearer and more pointed.

She raised an eyebrow, wondering why he was suddenly so fixated on Natalia. "You said you were married, but you wanted to make me your Luna instead."

"I said, what did I tell you about Natalia?" he repeated, barely above a whisper.

His stare was so intense it sent chills racing down her spine.

After a moment of panic, it clicked. She finally understood what he was getting at.

"You said your wife had nothing to do with me. You promised she'd never hurt me, and you made me promise not to hurt her either."

Adrian kept studying her face as she spoke. She definitely didn't look happy talking about Natalia.

Every single line from Natalia's diary flashed through his mind like a slideshow of his failures.

His hands clenched into fists as he remembered all those times he'd screamed at Natalia. That time he'd actually slapped her.

Just thinking about that slap made his blood boil, his eyes going dark with rage.

He fixed Lynda with that dangerous look and asked in a voice that could cut glass, "If I said she had nothing to do with you, then why did you hurt her?"

Lynda's mouth fell open. "What are you talking about?"

"You abused her when I wasn't around, didn't you?"

Her eyes went wide as she shot up from the couch. "Adrian, what are you—"

He cut her off with another question that hit like a punch. "Why were you lying to me about her and making me treat her like garbage?"
