Alpha's Twins Chapter 62

5 min 30.7K views

Even though Adrian wanted to stay at the hospital, Patric told him he should head back to either his company apartment or the pack house to get some rest.

He decided against the pack house since both his parents were still at the pack hospital. His father hadn't been discharged yet and was still dealing with his condition. So Adrian headed to his usual company apartment instead. He kept quiet about everything that had happened—no point worrying his mother when his father was still unconscious.

His car got totaled in the accident, so Patric had his driver take Adrian to the apartment.

Sitting in the backseat, Adrian stared out the window. He felt like hell. His wolf was completely messed up after seeing Natalia's condition.

One thing became crystal clear to Adrian today—he couldn't fight the mate bond.

He figured that's why he was feeling all this stuff for Natalia. Honestly, her condition hit him harder than his own father being sick, which was pretty screwed up when he thought about it.

The car stopped in front of his company's apartment building. Beta Patric's driver got out and opened his door.

Adrian stepped out. The driver gave him a respectful nod, which Adrian returned before heading to his apartment.

He frowned when he saw who was waiting by his door.

Lynda.

"What are you doing here?" Adrian asked, fishing his house key from his pocket.

Lynda's eyes went wide when she spotted his bandaged hands.

"What happened to your hands?" she asked, sounding shocked.

"Nothing," he said, unlocking the door.

He walked inside. Lynda followed right behind him.

"You never tell me anything, Adrian. Why are you treating me like this? I'm your fiancée. I have a right to know what's going on with you," Lynda complained, looking hurt.

He dropped onto the couch in the spacious living room and asked, "How'd you know I'd be here?"

Lynda stood in front of him. "I went to see your dad at the pack hospital. Your mom mentioned you haven't been staying at the pack house lately, so I figured you'd be here."

"Hmm."

That was all she got from him.

She studied him closely. When his black shirt shifted slightly, she caught sight of bloodstains on his chest.

Her eyes widened. She leaned forward, trying to touch his chest.

"What are you doing?" Adrian asked, immediately grabbing her wrists.

When Lynda realized his shirt was soaked with blood, she stared at him in horror. "Are you hurt?"

He pushed her hands away to keep her at a distance.

She winced like the push had hurt her. Adrian glanced over and saw her rubbing her right hand. His gaze landed on the burn mark there.

It reminded him of Natalia's scar. He shoved that thought away and looked away from Lynda.

"Why are you here? Need something? Didn't I tell you to go through my secretary?" he asked.

Lynda stared at him. She clenched her fists. "So you think I only come here when I want something?"

Adrian stood up. "It's getting late. You should head home. We can talk tomorrow."

He started walking toward his bedroom.

But Lynda rushed over and grabbed his hand.

"Why are you avoiding me, Adrian?"

He looked down at her hand gripping his arm. She wouldn't let go.

"You saw how that woman almost broke my hand. You said you'd do something about her. So why haven't you punished her yet? What's the deal?"

Adrian took her hand and pulled it off his arm.

He frowned at her. "You're not that weak. Why didn't you stand up for yourself in the moment?"

"Like I told you before, I wanted you to see what she's really like, Adrian."

Adrian looked away. "I don't want to talk about this right now."

"You never seem to notice her faults. Why, Adrian? You said you hated her, didn't you? So why can't you punish her?"

Adrian stared at the blank wall. The questions really got to him. But he figured it was because she was his mate.

It was his wolf that wouldn't let him go against her or hurt her. His wolf always protected her from him.

"It's not like that. Good night, Lynda," Adrian muttered.

Just as he started to move forward, Lynda spoke up again.

"Well, it's good that it's not like that. Because that woman has no morals. Beta Eric wasn't enough for her. She needs more than just a beta. Now she's going after another Alpha."

Adrian froze. Hearing Lynda say that made his blood boil.

He wanted to tell her off and order her to stay out of Natalia's business. But as soon as he turned to face Lynda, she threw a bunch of photos onto the small coffee table next to the couch.

Lynda looked at Adrian and said, "You can see the proof with your own eyes."

Adrian had no idea what proof she was talking about.

As he walked over to the table, his eyes fell on the photos.

Just looking at the pictures made his blood start boiling instantly.

Furious, he grabbed the photos and nearly crushed them as he stared at each one.

Natalia was hugging Alpha Jason outside some hotel. In one photo, Alpha Jason was kissing the top of her head. In another, Natalia had a smile on her face as she led the guy into the hotel.
