Alpha's Twins Chapter 182
# Natalia's POV
"Hey! Stop the car!"
"Can't you hear me? I said stop the car!"
I kept yelling at the driver to pull over, but the guy was just like his boss—completely ignoring me like I didn't even exist.
I couldn't believe I was stuck next to this psycho. He was basically a ticking time bomb who could snap and kill me any second.
Was he planning to get rid of me so he could have the kids all to himself?
Was he scared for his life because I told him that night I wanted to kill him?
I was spiraling in my own thoughts when his voice cut through—smooth as silk and twice as dangerous.
"Why do you think I want to kill you?"
I nearly jumped out of my skin.
*What the hell? Since when does Adrian talk like that?* I thought.
When I whipped around to look at him, he was already staring right at me.
"What are you staring at? Can't you see I'm freaking out about whatever sick plan you've got? Why do you want me dead? So you can have my kids all to yourself? Well, newsflash, Adrian Miller—you can't kill me. I'll kill you first."
I glared at him, but then something caught my eye in the front seat.
The driver's hand shot toward his waistband, going for his gun the second he heard me threaten his Alpha.
I was about to lose it on the driver when Adrian's voice rumbled out like thunder.
"Keep driving."
The driver's eyes flicked to the rearview mirror. He nodded and slowly moved his hand away from the weapon.
I couldn't believe it. Everyone in this pack was packing heat.
"Relax. I didn't tell him to shoot you. He's the head Alpha's driver—he carries for protection."
Adrian's voice was right next to me.
*Did I say that out loud? How the hell did he know what I was thinking?*
I decided to keep my mouth shut. What could he really do to me anyway? I had my wolf ready to tear him apart if he tried anything. Sure, I wasn't some trained fighter like him, but I could definitely do some damage.
"I should've killed him that night during the war," I mumbled under my breath.
"You hate me, don't you?" he asked.
"Obviously."
"How much?"
I turned to look at him. Something in his expression had shifted—softer somehow. There was something in his eyes I couldn't quite figure out.
Not that I cared enough to try.
"More than I love my children," I said, my voice ice-cold.
He looked like I'd just slapped him. His whole face went dark. He definitely wasn't expecting that one.
I knew what was coming next. He'd ask me why I hated him so much, probably go on about how he should be the one hating me and all that crap.
But his next words caught me completely off guard.
"You shouldn't forget who I am."
I let out a bitter laugh. "Oh, trust me, Alpha, I know exactly who you are. You're my head Alpha. And..." I paused, meeting his eyes with the coldest stare I could manage.
"My children's father and... my ex-husband."
Suddenly, he leaned in close, his voice dropping to a whisper.
"You forgot one thing. I'm still your mate."
