Natalia couldn't tell where he was looking. She figured he was staring at her chest, so she quickly crossed her arms over her breasts.

"Pervert."

Adrian was too stunned by what he'd seen to register her comment. Those marks...

He stepped back, muttering under his breath, "So that's why you've been getting weaker."

Natalia had no idea what he was talking about. She yanked the blanket up to cover herself, grateful for the warmth that cut through the bone-deep chill wracking her body.

She watched Adrian head toward the door, assuming he was about to leave her alone. Looking around, she realized they were in what used to be their bedroom. Her vision was starting to clear, her head feeling less foggy.

The click of the door closing made her look up. Her eyes went wide when she saw Adrian turning the lock.

"What are you doing?" Her voice came out as a hoarse rasp that made her throat burn.

Adrian turned around without answering.

Natalia felt completely drained in his presence. The fever was making everything feel distant and numb. She couldn't understand why she'd been getting sick so much lately. She was an Alpha—she used to be able to shake off fevers like this overnight.

So why not now?

Adrian stopped beside the bed. She eyed him warily.

"Look, I'm sick right now. I'm not in the mood to fight with you."

Instead of listening, his gaze dropped to her chest again. She scowled at him.

Clutching the blanket tighter, she snapped, "What are you staring at?"

He grabbed the blanket and yanked it away.

She gasped, eyes going wide. "Adrian, you coward! You brought me here while I'm weak so you could take advantage of me!"

She scrambled out of bed and started pounding her fists against his chest. "You want to sleep with me while I can barely stand, don't you? You're disgusting! Cruel!"

Adrian caught her wrists and pinned them behind her back, pulling her body against his. He sighed when she looked up at him with those wide, furious eyes.

"Calm down. I'm not trying to take advantage of—"

She didn't let him finish, struggling against his grip. This time her movement threw Adrian off balance.

They both tumbled onto the bed, their bodies pressed together.

Natalia couldn't have been more shocked.

Adrian, on the other hand, was hit with the realization that she wasn't wearing anything under that shirt. He could feel it.

It took Natalia a few seconds to snap out of it before she tried pushing him away again.

But Adrian caught her hands and pinned them above her head with one of his own. Looking into her eyes, he said, "Don't move, or you're going to wake up my wolf. I'm just trying to heal your wounds."
