Faith felt like her ribs were shattered. She screamed as she collapsed to the floor, her handcuffed wrists making it impossible to even clutch her chest.

The guards who had prepared the room returned to the living area.

"Alpha, everything's ready."

Adrian's piercing gaze remained fixed on Faith. He gave a slight nod.

"Alpha, should we drag her to the room?"

Adrian turned to the guards, who immediately lowered their heads.

"No. She's going to walk in there herself."

Faith looked up at Adrian as he rose from the couch. His imposing frame loomed over her like some dark deity while she cowered at his feet.

"I-I won't go—"

Gamma Benjamin lost it. He lunged forward, grabbed a fistful of her hair, and yanked her to her feet.

"When my Alpha gives you an order, you bow your head and obey. Period."

His furious voice boomed through the room. Adrian studied Benjamin closely.

Of all his officers, this one had the shortest fuse. Turn him loose in the woods without supervision, and he'd tear apart everything in his path.

As Adrian stepped closer, Benjamin backed away. "Sorry, Alpha. I lost control when she defied you."

Adrian clapped him on the shoulder. Benjamin dropped his head respectfully.

Faith trembled, the agony in her chest making her wish for death.

"I-I don't want to—"

CRACK!

Adrian's hand connected with her cheek. Her head snapped sideways, and blood trickled from the corner of her split lip.

"Didn't you slap her exactly like this when she refused? Who the hell gave you permission to lay a finger on her?"

Faith's eyes went wide with shock. Adrian was serving her the same treatment she'd dished out to Natalia.

The old man looked ready to collapse from terror. It finally dawned on him that Adrian was making Faith pay—and he knew exactly which girl Adrian meant.

Adrian's cold stare shifted to him.

"Get to that room and wait for her. Show her one ounce of mercy, and I'll cut off your shriveled manhood and toss it to the strays."

The man scurried toward the room, head down, knowing full well Adrian meant every word.

Faith looked up at Adrian through her tears. "Please forgive me, Alpha. I never should have done that to Natalia."

"Are you walking in there yourself, or do I order my guards to strip you naked and let that old pervert have you right here in front of everyone?"

Faith had no choice. She stumbled toward the room and the old man waiting inside.

Adrian watched her go. He was forcing her down the same twisted path she'd pushed Natalia onto.

His eyes turned black as coal—sharp and deadly enough to kill with a glance.

"Keep it together, Adrian."

Patrick's voice cut through his rage. Adrian ignored him and stalked to the side table, downing an entire glass of wine in one gulp.

"That one screw-up is eating me alive."
