Alpha's Twins Chapter 61

Natalia was stunned by the question. The pain was so intense she couldn't even turn her head to look at her hand—blood was trickling down from her scalp, making everything throb.

She slowly raised her hand to get a better look at what Adrian was talking about.

The moment she saw the scar, her breath caught.

Why was it suddenly visible after being hidden for so many years? Was something wrong with her body? Why couldn't she conceal it anymore?

She didn't want to talk about it. There was no point dragging the past back into her life.

She'd never regretted what happened. But bringing it up now would only make everything worse. After all these years, she just didn't want to think about it again.

"I-I was attacked by rogues and w-woke up without that memory."

"Whe—"

A car horn blared, cutting Adrian off mid-sentence. He turned to see Patric pulling up, an ambulance right behind him.

Patric jumped out of his car the second he saw what had happened.

"What the hell!" he exclaimed, taking in Natalia's condition.

Adrian didn't wait for the ambulance. He rushed straight to Patric's car, carrying Natalia close as he slid into the backseat.

Patric was about to close the back door when Natalia lifted her trembling hand.

"M-My driver."

Patric caught on immediately. He nodded, his voice reassuring.

"They're helping him. Don't worry."

Within minutes, the paramedics had pulled the unconscious driver from the wreckage.

"He's alive, still breathing," Patric told Natalia as he got behind the wheel.

Natalia closed her eyes, her head feeling impossibly heavy.

Adrian stared at her face, completely lost. He slowly reached out and gently traced the scar on her hand.

*She said rogues attacked her. When? After she left my pack? I never saw this scar when she was with me.*

Questions flooded his mind. He needed answers, but they'd have to wait.

Patric pulled up outside the pack hospital where Doctor Harold and his medical team were already waiting—Patric had called ahead.

Adrian got out and came around to Natalia's side, lifting her carefully once again.

Doctor Harold looked shocked when he saw the blood on both her head and hand. The staff immediately suggested Adrian place her on a stretcher.

Adrian laid her down and stepped back, letting them do their job.

They wheeled her into the operating room while Adrian waited outside. Doctor Harold explained she needed several stitches on her head.

"Adrian, I know you're tough and don't feel pain easily, but those glass shards could cause an infection," Patric said.

Adrian looked down and noticed he was bleeding from both hands. The broken window had cut his right arm, and there was a gash on his left palm.

He remembered losing his balance when he'd tried to stop Natalia's car, cutting himself when he'd pressed his hand against his own car window.

His shirt was covered in Natalia's blood, though the black fabric hid it well.

He took a deep breath. He'd never been this terrified in his entire life. He never wanted to go through something like this again.

Patric watched Adrian for a while. When he realized Adrian wasn't paying attention to his own wounds, he flagged down a passing nurse and asked her to examine him.

The nurse swallowed nervously in front of the head Alpha but gestured for Adrian to follow her to the next room so she could treat his injuries.

Patric had to practically force Adrian to get his hands bandaged.

Half an hour later, Doctor Harold emerged from the operating room to find Adrian still waiting outside.

"She's lucky her body wasn't more seriously injured. But she did sustain a head injury. I'd estimate about a week for the stitches to heal completely."

Adrian glanced toward the operating room. "Is she okay?"

Harold was shocked by the genuine concern in Alpha Adrian's voice. He'd never seen this side of him before. When Adrian and Natalia had been married, he'd never shown any care for her. Hell, five years ago, he hadn't even waited for her to wake up before abandoning her at the hospital.

"Yeah, she's fine. Just lost some blood. The head cuts didn't affect her memory. She's lucky."

Patric stood behind Adrian, taking everything in.

"Thanks, Doctor Harold," Patric said, knowing his Alpha wasn't great with gratitude.

"When will she wake up?" Adrian asked.

"The stitches are fresh, so we want her to stay unconscious for now. It'll probably be a few hours before she wakes up. You can see her tomorrow—until then, she'll be under observation."
